yes we did: humans by definition of ape, are apes. What I think you meant to say is that we didn'e evolve from any of the currently existing apes. an ape is a primate with no tail. and a primate is a mammal with an unusually large brain-body ratio (the other primates have this too, but not as much as us!) forward looking eyes, flexible fingers, a general dental pattern (as opposed to say canines which have very specialised dental patterns) have an unspecialised body plan, closed eye orbits and short fingernails.

well it is ok, because those species are human too, just not "modern human" which relates to the difference in erectus, ergaster and sapiens. Namely our much larger cranial capacity and other differences in facial positioning and dentition, brow prominence and so on. However Erectus only appears to have survived up to about 400,000 years ago, and Mt Eve is from 150,000 years ago. There is certainly no evidence of erectus or ergaster being around at this time.

Your point about multiple partners is irrelevant. While Mt Eve is the sole ancestor of all current mitochondria (well that have been studied), many of her other genes will have no current ancestors, and all the genes that we have will come from common ancestors older or younger than her. She is merely the individual ancestor that we can date for a particular genetic piece, due to the fact that mitochondria do not mix like other genes. you arguments about Mt Eve indicate that you do not really understand what the analysis of mitochondria is saying about her, and this could be leading to many of your misconceptions regarding racism.

Because to say so would show a complete misunderstanding of what African Eve is and a denial of the evidence that racial diversity came about after the species left Africa.

A compelling piece of evidence that "African Eve" did not have sex with any Homo Ergaster or Erectus is that there seem to be some hundredthousand years between them.

Quite the same evidence exists that JFK - who had tons of unknown liasons - did not have sex with Cleopatra...

Could we try to stay away from the racism claims here? It's no good derailing perfectly legitimate topics like this. Evolutionary theories have never been racist. Current evolutionary (and indeed, any biological) theories do not even distinguish between "races" in humans today! The term race is meaningless in biology and human evolution. Yes, social darwinism was racist. However this thread is about how humans evolved from apes. Lets try to stay on topic shall we?
