One of my favorites.,
The Anchor Holds
By Lawrence Chewning
When shadows fall and winds are high,
And hope seems hidden from the sky,
A whisper comes, both soft and deep,
"I am the Lord, your soul I keep."
The world may shake and fears may rise,
But grace still waits beyond our eyes.
For on the cross, the debt was paid,
A firm foundation, surely laid.
Though winters long may bring the night,
The morning brings a stronger light.
The anchor holds, the soul is free,
Our hope is in the Trinity.
So look away from doubts and fear,
The Shepherd of your soul is near.
A promise made, forever true,
He makes all things, in time, look new.
