  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What did your kids do today? Any new developments? New words? Just a wonderful continuation of the way that they are? Any cute little stories that you'll hang on to for awhile?

I'm just loving Breanna's stage right now. I say that, but I've loved EVERY stage! Just when I think that I've found "my favorite", she changes a little, and I like the new level even more!

She's just...sweet! Yes, she's very strong-willed, but I happen to think that it's such a wonderful trait. It's my job, as her mother, to teach her how to use that trait to benefit her life and the lives around her. Being strong-willed can be a very effective tool in life! (I know, I'm living it! lol) And just because she has her mother's stubborn streak doesn't mean that she's a little hellian...she's just the opposite!

My heart melts every time she comes up to me to just give me a hug. And it's not a pat-pat, now I'm on my way sort of hug. She falls against me, squeezes her little arms around wherever she's hugging (shoulders, waist, legs, arm...wherever!) and says "Ohhhhhh....Mama!" Yep...that's my heart in the soupy puddle on the floor! =)

Today we were shopping at the Christian Bookstore, and we were over in the VeggieTale section playing with all of the new toys...lol. She did something, and I poked her chest and said "You're silly!" A common phrase around her...lol. She grinned and poked me back, "No, you're silly!" Of course, it sound like "no, you see!" which made it even cuter...lol.

And she blows kisses to EVERYONE now. She used to be soooo stingy with them (I didn't mind, that meant I got all of them!), but now she's blowing kisses to everyone she sees, whether we're at church or at the grocery store, or driving in the car! lol

I love it...this is the greatest time in my life.

So how about you? What did your kids do? What stage are they at? And I know not every ounce of it is bliss, but let's not focus on those moments right now. Tell me how wonderful that little mini-me is! Brag on your kids for a few minutes...it'll be good for ya!

Jonah's only at 3 months. He has started to focus on us and what's going on around him now. It's so cool to sing to him or talk to him and notice he is now focusing on us. I feel like it's a next step to getting to know each other. He's also awake more and more each day so I get more interaction with him. He's also moveing his head side to side now. Small stuff but good for the heart.

We had a funeral to go to yesterday  (we lost a beloved member of our congregation).

Anyway, to the funny part. They were giving a short sermon, and there were a couple of "AMEN'S" from the audience. My Mateo (5 yrs old) says "Mami, we are at a funeral, not church, so why is everyone serving the Lord?" ..... he was deeply disturbed!

Leave it to a kid to make you (and your friends) laugh at a funeral! :D

Hello ya'll and God Bless..
I just wanted to share that my 3 year old looked at her dad yesterday and said "Dad, I am not a girl, I am a woman"!!!! I could have died. Dad thought it was pretty funny. Oh my goodness, she is our 3rd and she is so different. She is the child that if you would of had her first, you probably wouldn't of had anymore kids..^_^ ^_^
Ya'll have a great day..

My nephew's almost eight, his stage right now is to tell me I'm wrong all the time or blaming me for everything that he doesn't like etc. I know everyone has their bad days but I have to keep reminding him who he's talking to.

I guess it's a part of growing up.

As for the baby...this week they ears look almost the same as they will at birth. Cool, eh?

Natalie is learning a lot of new things at this age (13 months). She took her first steps on Easter. She has just started "dancing" (moving her hands back and forth) when she hears music. Sometimes she will do it when I sing. She loves to wave bye-bye to Daddy in the morning through our front window. If we're still standing there and another car passes, she will wave to them too. :D

Our son is just on the verge of walking I think. He actually let go of what he was holding on to yesterday withough falling for just a second. He seemed to have forgotten that he didn't know how to balance or walk. I think that he's very close to actually attempting it on purpose.

The oldest helped me clean the kitchen today just because she was sorry she disobeyed me. She didn't have to do it. I was really touched.

My middle one walked up to me gave me a hug and asked to take a nap becuase she was tired. I loved that. No nap time argument.

My baby crawled over to my pant leg this morning while I was on the phone. I just hung it up when he pulled on my leg, pointed to the phone and asked almost in tears, "My Daddy?" I picked him up and we looked at Daddy's pictures.

My littlest one (4 years old) was sick last night and this morning, throwing up and not able to keep anything down. But she's just so patient and wonderful...she never cried or whined or got upset or freaked out like some kids do when they throw up. I would hold her hair back and cuddle her and after she'd be sick she'd look up at me and say, "Thanks, Mama"...every single time, bless her heart. As if she didn't already have my heart!

And my oldest (7 years old) had her first softball game of the season tonight. She was so adorable, in her uniform. She's the smallest one on the team but she's so confident and tough, lol. Everytime she'd walk by the fence on my side on her way to bat she'd look over at me with her big blue eyes and her beautiful freckled face and give me a thumbs up. LOL, it cracked me up every time. :D

I love my girls SO MUCH!

WOW! Great stories, everyone!! Yeah, we all have our icky days, but this really is the greatest thing we'll do in our lives isn't it?

Breanna is trying to do everything "Just like Mama" right now. She went through that awhile back, but I thought it had already run away! But now it's back, and it is soooo cute! But also a strong reminder to watch what I do and say in front of her...I don't want to pass on any bad habits!

Reagan did the sweetest thing yesterday. My husband works 4 days 12 hrs a day so he's only here in the morning for a couple hours to see the kids. Yesterday evening Reagan comes to me and says "Da-ye?" I say, "Daddy's at work, honey" He says to me "Cah" I think he's saying car so I say "Yes, daddy went to work in the car." He just kept saying it and finally waved his little hand at the phone. We called and Derek wasn't at his desk. He was disappointed but he toddled off to play. About 30 min later he fell and hurt himself and immediately ran to me hollering "Da-ye, cah!" We called daddy right away and thank goodness he was at his desk! How sweet....

My kids have definately been full of surprises lately. They have been very peacefull about our up coming move and are behaving very grown up all of a sudden. My 3 year old got dressed by himself this morning before waking me up for breakfast... he is wearing

a plaid bucket hat,
grey red and white Canada T-shirt,
green cords, and
black socks and dress shoes.

Husband and I think he looks like a crazy old man (at least he isn't wearing sandals!).

I don't even know where to start. The last few days David has been so cooperative about naptime. This morning I was reading him books about a half hour before normal naptime and he suddenly gets up, grabs several books and chucks them in his crib and says "nigh nigh!" So I put him in his crib, and he went down for naptime early. He keeps doing this, I guess he really likes looking at the books then sleeping because I haer him in there talking for a while and then nothing.

And he's so good when we go out-- he listens to me so well. We were at the park yesterday and anytime he was going to do something new he would look at me for confirmation and I would say "go ahead!" and then he'd go running off to the pavilion or something following a little girl he was playing with.

He always holds my hand when we're crossing the street or in parking lots without me asking, he just puts his hand up into mine.

He's really getting the routine down on different smaller items. If he sees the bathroom door open he knows its not right so he says "uhoh door!" and runs over and shuts the door. When I say "bathtime is over in two minutes" he knows that means to put the toys out of the bath water and into the plastic bin.

It was so worth the effort in the past months where it was really a struggle for all of these things...

I like "feel good" threads. Sort of makes a difference from all the problems out there.
Michele is constantly changing. She is simply the best. Hugs are the "in thing" just now. She comes up and says" Dady needs a hug", which of course I do. Then it's Mumy needs a hug. Of course the reality is that Michele wants a hug. But she also wants to be mumy's little helper. Likes to use Dad's chest as a tramploine first thing in the morning. Yep, you guessed it I can be boring when it comes to talking about my little girl!

He's adorable! I could just eat him up! (LOL, don't you hate phrases like that? ;) )

I just got a call from a mother of a little boy in my 7 year old's class asking my daughter out on a date, lol. She said her son had been bugging her for 2 days to call and ask Emily if she could come watch his baseball game today. LOL, his mom told him that she didn't know how Emily's parents would feel about a boy calling her, lol. So he BEGGED and said, "Well can YOU call and set up a playdate for me?" :D:D:D So she just called and they're both going to watch each other play ball today.

So funny...the little boy's dad said, "Well don't you think we need to meet this girl's parents before we start setting them up on dates? ;)
