How could evolution be reconcilable with Christianity?

The question was asked and two opinions have emerged. Seeing as evolution has its root in a doctrine contrary to the Bible it should not be presented as a Christian view, but rather a secular view in Christian disguise, and excluded from this forum......therefore no debate.

That's not how this works. There is to be no debate between Christians on this forum, no matter what you think about another person's beliefs. There can be a bit of dialogue for clarification purposes, but when it passes that it starts to enter the realm of debate.

So, again, there is no debate allowed on this forum.

That's right, evolution doesn't work on its own - it works because of God!

This is really a fallacy here. Evolution does not work on it's own. God is not to be proven to be helping the theory of evolution along. One can just observe and see that who is helping the theory along is man or woman but God is obviously not in the equation. Actually, I think part of it is helped by Lucifer.

We first have to take evolution in it's parts, which I tried to expound how some parts of basic evolution theory make sense but just because it makes sense in some ways, does not mean that the whole of evolution truly makes any sense, nor is proven.

Do keep in mind that I am not into scientific studies. I really do not have the time for it. But, do not disqualify me in basic ideas of evolution. If you get into such things as microbiology and other things, I just am not studied in many areas.

I am a student of the word. I just will not be cheated by these vain philosophies. That is my stance. At least the word is not rubbish. :)

Sorry if I got into debate here. I go through the new posts and something just catches my eyes. I sometimes do not know where I am at. But, one thing I must say is that if something cannot stand up to scrutiny, then what use is it? When you get many people together in a group who seem to believe one thing and they do not allow someone from the outside to test it, what use is that belief? It is in danger of being delusion upheld by those who do not want to know any better or anything else. Well, that is just their judgment I guess. It is very dangerous to believe and practice a lie according to the word.

This will be the last of what I will say here and I will try to stay away from your moderation because frankly for some reason you just give me the creeps. Just saying......:)

This is not a debate forum. If you want to debate evolution, either go to Origins Theology or Creation/Evolution forums. This forum is specifically for non-Christians to ask (perhaps difficult ones) of Christians, and to receive answers from those Christians. It's not for Christians to debate each other.

These websites are no more scientic than fly in the air. There is NOT a scientific case for Adam and Eve.

Have you read the book by Hugo Ross concerning Adam? Ross, has phD in Chemistry-he is a scientist not micky mouse.

I am a Christian and a scientist and I can assure you that science and faith are not incompatable. I too am a fundamental creationist, I fundamentally believe that God created the world - using the mechanism of evolution!

I am not an atheist or agnostic - I am nowhere near the on the verge of becoming one, my faith has never been stronger than it is now

I was a scientist too(on disability now) and we have to disagree to disagree-evolution is compatible with faith. Science is just mankind observing what God has done. Whats your definition of evolution? I believe in all microevolution and some macroevolution-but I don't believe that I evolved from a fish or a goat came from a turtle.

Hugo Ross traces the genetics back to Adam and Eve in his adam book..
