I'm agnostic but I do love a little southern gospel with my LP, MM, and MCR. :)

Creative Commons licenses (depending on which one you choose) allow you to release artistic works to the public which allow the authors to retain ownership of their pieces but allow the public to share the art freely. You may place restrictions on the work like not allowing people to remix it or not allowing anyone to use it for commercial purposes but everyone is allowed to listen to, download, and share it with others for FREE. A LARGE collection of Creative Commons music may be found on Jamendo. However, I haven't found any quality Christian Creative Commons music yet. It's really starting to bug me.

@Rolande:

yes this is correct but we should freely give what we have freely received. How stupid is it that I am not allowed to sing or post on youtube christian songs like "our god is an awsome god..." only because they are listed at GEMA or RIAA or what ever it is called in your country. If god inspires us we should freely give it away. What we have done is the same as the money changer in the temple - we have professionals, we have indead professional christians. I do not think that is what Jesus tells us. They even use the words of the bibel (in songs) and then it is copyrighted. How can gods word be copyrighted????
