If you object to imputation of Adam's sin, then you should also object to imputation of Christ's righteousness.
That contrasting parallel of the imputation of Adam's sin and the imputation of Christ's righteousness is drawn in
Romans 5:18-19.
That passage contrasts the result of Adam’s sin with the result of Christ’s sacrifice. Again your injecting the notion of imputation into the passage. Yes Christ’s righteousness is imputed upon us, there’s no verses that refute that, but Ezekiel 18:19-20 does refute the imputation of Adam’s sin. Paul never says anything about imputation of sin in this passage. He merely mentioned that the result of Adam’s sin was condemnation for all men. He never said exactly how that condemnation was implemented. Your assuming that it was imputed upon us but Paul never actually said it was.
“The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one transgression
resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions
resulting in justification. For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.”
Romans 5:16-17 NASB1995
You are in disagreement with NT
apostolic teaching that
they did not sin between Adam and Moses (
Romans 5:14).
I already proved that sin did exist between Adam & Moses in post 382 and your still omitting the last half of that verse. Paul didn’t say they didn’t sin, he said they didn’t sin in the likeness of Adam. I already showed you that like 3 posts ago and your still omitting that portion of the verse.
“Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those
who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.”
Romans 5:14 NASB1995
Yeah nobody sinned in the likeness of Adam except Eve. Afterwards man was cast out of the garden of Eden and angels were placed as guards to keep man out so that he wouldn’t eat from the tree of life and have eternal life. So nobody could eat from the tree of knowledge after Adam’s sin because nobody was allowed in the garden after the fall.
By that reasoning, the last half of
Ezekiel 18:20--"the righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to
him," is also incorrect. . .according to
2 Corinthians 5:21;
1 Corinthians 1:30;
Philippians 3:9;
Genesis 15:6;
Romans 1:17,
Romans 3:21,
Romans 4:3,
Romans 5:19, where it is credited to others.
Are you saying that the righteousness of Christ was not accredited to Him?
