At the risk of repeating myself:

post-Reformation gathered Churches utilize what they received
pre-Reformation gatheres Churches utilize what they received

if one is going to look closely, there is evidence that (some) practices of both are not entirely "scriptural"

then, there is the question of interpretation and also spirit (sometimes versus) letter of the scripture

I think it would take a move away from trying to gain unity through doctrines which are really designed to divide us and a move towards realising that our unity is only in Jesus. Focussing on an understanding of what salvation and inclusion into the body of Christ is and how that should unite us more than any set of doctrines or earthly institution.

Without an authoritative source for interpreting scripture, it becomes a source of division rather than unity.

2. Again, you (like the RCC) seem to be embracing Authority (for self alone) while rejecting the companion - accountablility

I think this is the one thing that confuses me about Protestants. I don't understand why they are so overly concerned with us. Society in general seems to have a strange obsession with Catholics and Catholicism. Sometimes I think Eastern Orthodox and Jews are our only friends left.

I agree with you that the RCC alone currently and officially agrees with itself alone in all matters that itself thinks is important to officially agree with itself alone about. I just fail to see why you think that has any significance to anything. All the other 34,999 denominations some Catholics insist exist also currently and officially agree with themselves in all matters that they regard as important to agree with themselves about. Heck, even I usually agree with me. So?
