It's kinda mushy any tips?

I tried to make fried tofu for a thai recipe that I have, and it didn't taste as good as what I get at the restaurant. :(

I'm really not sure how you prepare it. I love to eat it, but I never cook with it after the thai fiasco, unfortunately.

My mom used to make a stirfry recipe where the tofu took on the flavor of chicken, so I'll ask her how she did it and get back with you.

There are some wonderful recipes using tofu. But you need to have the right type of tofu. The silken tofu is good for making healthy smoothies or a good pie. But not good for stir-fry.

For stir-fry you need the regular firm or extra firm tofu that is in a waterbath. You drain the water, cut the tofu up in 1/4 inch pieces or bigger, put in skillet. Add onion/garlic powder, McKay's chicken seasoning (or whatever you like to use for chicken seasoning) and Brewer's yeast (or food yeast). Then I put on it a little olive oil. I fry it a little and serve. We have this on Sabbath mornings often as a treat.

I have LOTS of wonderful recipes using tofu!!!
