Could you please elaborate?
The New Testament is pretty clear, you hear the gospel, believe, and recieve the Holy Spirit of promise (John 3:3; 3:16; Acts 10:42-44); Eph. 1:13). Ok there are your justification by grace through faith, apart from, all to the honor and glory of God's grace. There seems to be a disconnect on how we are saved. I would like your comments please.
The answer I was looking for is that we are saved by the Person and work of Christ. Our faith doesn't save us nor does any of the other things. It is Christ who saves us.The New Testament is pretty clear, you hear the gospel, believe, and recieve the Holy Spirit of promise (John 3:3; 3:16; Acts 10:42-44); Eph. 1:13). At a glance it might a couple of things missing like reprentance at one end and the fruits of the Holy Spirit at the other. They are part of salvation in the sense the Father draws us to Christ and the believer grows in grace and knowdge but salvation is pretty straightforward.
Considering Jesus is the author and finishiner of our faith (Hebrews 12:2) I would have to agree. The answer I was looking for is that we are saved by the Person and work of Christ. Our faith doesn't save us nor does any of the other things. It is Christ who saves us.
The disconnect comes when we see salvation as something we get rather than something Christ Jesus the Lord accomplished. We are far too man centered in our religion.

There’s nothing about keys and doors in scripture concerning salvation.God gave us free will. So it is entirely up to us to decide if we want to follow Jesus. Of course Jesus is the only person who can give us the key, but we must open the door.

Can you tie it to scripture?I made up that analogy,
Can you tie it to scripture?
How does that fit with your key/door analogy?John 3:16
I found where Jesus referred to himself as a gate to the sheep (John 10:7-10). I'm not sure what the problem with the key and door analogy, I kind of like it. I've always loved that song, Jesus is the Lighthouse, even though it's noy very boblical. Can you tie it to scripture?
It works, I suppose, if it’s only sheep who get a key.I found where Jesus referred to himself as a gate to the sheep (John 10:7-10). Why would someone who hates the light and loves the darkness act on it?For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God gave you something, but you had to act on it. Believing in Jesus is unlocking the door.
Well naturally, there is another door and key that may or may not be related (Isa. 22:22, Rev. 3:7). It appears to be the royal treasury Jesus promises to the Philidelphians, some kind of ministry opportunity. It works, I suppose, if it’s only sheep who get a key.
I have no idea what any of that means.Well naturally, there is another door and key that may or may not be related (Isa. 22:22, Tev. 3:7). It appears to be the royal treasury Jesus promises to the Philidelphians, some kind of ministry opportunity.
It was the analogy of the door and the key, closest I could come was the key of David.I have no idea what any of that means.
