Sorry I did not know it was a restricted forum but you making false statements does not help your cause. We are only saved by GRACE through faith and not of ourselves it is a gift of God *EPHESIANS 2:8 and further stated that OBEDIENCE to God's LAW is not how we are saved it is the FRUIT of God's work in us to love as we BELIEVE and FOLLOW his WORD.

According to God's Word if our faith has no fruit it is dead *JAMES 2:18-20; 26 and our tree will be cast down and thrown into the fire *MATTHEW 3:10; 7:19-20; 13:49-50. Sadly this is where the majority lie according to the scriptures. Now if you cannot provide anything from me stating what you claim why do you pretend that I am saying things I am not? Is bearing false witness a sin in your view?

The only false belief or false gospel is one that denies God's Word. Now if I have never posted anywhere on the forum or elsewhere that we are saved by what we do, why do you pretend that I have? I will leave that between you and God.
You identify as SDA and I am familiar with what they teach. Enough said.

After hearing the Word, no one can endure, continue in belief and follow until the end without abiding in Jesus through the Holy Spirit.

All who abide in Jesus will have the Holy Spirit to continue their belief and follow and endure until the end.

Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do NOTHING. John 15.5

To abide in Christ daily requires dependence upon the Holy Spirit so we continue to follow and endure.
How is it that you come to believe in Jesus?

Yes it is all about Him not us. All glory belongs to Him alone. We are just the recipients of that which glorifys Him.

Perhaps now you may begin to understand that it isn't up to us to accept Him but up to Him to save us or leave us in our sin.

It is not now that I begin to understand this. I just understood your question better.

Paul does show us that truth very well here. To consider our calling, truth is our calling to the faith came from God and that is why we believed, for whom He called, them He also justified.
God does this choosing of us so the flesh has no reason to glory.
It was not because of any goodness about ourselves that God saved us, it was because the Lord our God loved us.

1 Corinthians 1
26 For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. 27 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; 28 and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in His presence. 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— 31 that, as it is written, “He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.”

Deuteronomy 7, God chose us because God loved us and he swore to keep His oath which He made to Abraham and the other fathers. Paul told us Abraham was the father of us all...

6 “For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.

7 The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; 8 but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Romans 4:16 Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all

How marvelous are your works oh God.
“Known to God from eternity are all His works."

Hebrews 4:3, God finished all His works from the foundation of the world.

For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ” although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; 5 and again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.”

Psalm 139
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.

By grace, through faith, evidenced by works.
Through faith in what/whom? Works as evidence is subtle legalism. Works are the natural outcome of being born from above but they are not evidence to be looked to. An unbeliever can claim faith and deceive with works. We are never told to look for evidence in ourselves or others.

There seems to be a disconnect on how we are saved. I would like your comments please.

By Grace, Through faith:

Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—

God gives us the keys, but we have to open the doors. It is our job to accept Jesus as our Lord, King, and Savior. He gave us free will, as evidenced by not preventing Adam and Eve from sinning to make all of us sinners.

However, this doesnot in any way mean we can earn salvation through works. It is all about believing and loving Jesus, according to John 3:16: "For God so loved the world that He gave is one and only Son, that whosover believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life."

Romans 10:9 explains it more than adequately.

I do believe needs to be a saving belief, and not a mere intellectual belief which means we need a deep heartfelt belief, something far more than merely assent.

What do you say we look for? Search the depths of our heart and look for whether we are trusting in Him?

Yes. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb. 11:1 I think.

What does it mean to believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ?

It means to know Him as He is clearly revealed in the whole of Scriptures. The Godman our Lord and Savior. He is the God of the Old Testament as well as the New.

How does that not make man save himself?
