He never told you to worship on that day. He told you to keep it holy by refraining from work. Your idea is man's spin added to God's Word.still you dont see the very difference of the "HOLY" day which God himself sanctified, instead you the see the firstday of the week which God had not been sanctified..
the fourth commandment from the ten commandment was "Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy"..
the commandment was not remembering only.. take a closer look
"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy"... now when you say "keep it holy" we worship God on sabbath for it is HOLY because Sabbath is not any other day that can be shifted!..
Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Mar 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
the "SABBATH" is the lords day!
Beyond that, by the above , all you've proven is that the sabbath is man's day. I'll agree with that. The sabbath was made for man. So, even though it is not called the Lord's Day, it can accurately based on what you've pointed out be called Man's Day.
If you wish to worship on our seventh day, and think by doing so you are doing what the Scriptures mean when they say to rest and thus keep it holy, just say so. That's fine.
But please don't try to blow off all references to the day that celebrates our Lord's resurrection and belittle it just in order to justify your belief in the OT sabbath. Trying to steal the phrase that refers to the Lord Jesus' resurrection day and call it the sabbath is disrespectful to Christ our Lord. You don't have to try to make it out to be the Lord's day.
Just say you don't believe in worshiping on the Lord's Day and that's fine. Anything else - this stuff about trying to twist the Lord's resurrection day into being the Sabbath of Israel is beneath the standard of honesty we as Christians are called to live by.
Peace,
H.
