still you dont see the very difference of the "HOLY" day which God himself sanctified, instead you the see the firstday of the week which God had not been sanctified..
the fourth commandment from the ten commandment was "Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy"..

the commandment was not remembering only.. take a closer look

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy"... now when you say "keep it holy" we worship God on sabbath for it is HOLY because Sabbath is not any other day that can be shifted!..

Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Mar 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

the "SABBATH" is the lords day!
He never told you to worship on that day. He told you to keep it holy by refraining from work. Your idea is man's spin added to God's Word.

Beyond that, by the above , all you've proven is that the sabbath is man's day. I'll agree with that. The sabbath was made for man. So, even though it is not called the Lord's Day, it can accurately based on what you've pointed out be called Man's Day.

If you wish to worship on our seventh day, and think by doing so you are doing what the Scriptures mean when they say to rest and thus keep it holy, just say so. That's fine.

But please don't try to blow off all references to the day that celebrates our Lord's resurrection and belittle it just in order to justify your belief in the OT sabbath. Trying to steal the phrase that refers to the Lord Jesus' resurrection day and call it the sabbath is disrespectful to Christ our Lord. You don't have to try to make it out to be the Lord's day.

Just say you don't believe in worshiping on the Lord's Day and that's fine. Anything else - this stuff about trying to twist the Lord's resurrection day into being the Sabbath of Israel is beneath the standard of honesty we as Christians are called to live by.

Peace,
H.

The day you believe God tells you to rest on, that instead you worship on and use electricity causing others such as myself to have to work providing electricity, is Man's Day as you have above pointed out.

Beyond that, notice the testimony of our early church fathers, and how similar it is to the scriptures that follow. There is no question what the phrase "the Lord's Day" referred to. If I were you, I wouldn't try to argue that. It can't be supported and it makes your case look weak.

Ignatius, Bishop of Antioch, 3rd bishop of Antioch, student of John the Apostle. In A.D. 110, he wrote: “If, then, those who walk in the ancient practices attain to newness of hope, no longer observing the Sabbath, but fashioning their lives after the Lord’s Day on which our life also arose through Him, that we may be found disciples of Jesus Christ, our only teacher.”

Justin Martyr: somewhere between 100 – 165 A.D., he wrote: “And on the day called Sunday, all who live in cities or in the country gather together in one place and memoirs of the apostles or the writings of the prophets are read, as long as time permits… Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness in matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Saviour on the same day rose from the dead.”

Didache of the Apostles (~ 70 – 75 A.D.): “On the Lord’s own day, gather yourselves together and break bread and give thanks.”

Act 20:7 On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul ... prolonged his message until midnight.

1Co 16:2 On the first day of every week each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that no collections be made when I come.

Since Sabbatarians would never go to worship and break bread on the first day of the week, all I need to do is establish that in the first century church it happened; regardless of how many references or how few, it still happened.

I'm not trying to proselytize or change people's doctrine; however I will not shrink from answering questions and giving a reason for the faith within me.

I'm unsubscribing, so I'll let you have the final word.

God bless,
H.

your stand doesnt make sense at all.!

has paul have the authority to change the lords day to sunday?

there were no orders from God, regarding to sunday to be his day, instead God knows sunday is the first day of the week were he gave us six days to work.!

The Bible nowhere says that the first day of the week commemorates the resurrection of Christ. This is a tradition of men, which contradicts the law of God.

Baptism commemorates the burial and resurrection of Jesus. Romans 6:3-5.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

now what was the commandment of God? sabbath or sunday?

Unfortunately Numlock, they do not see the plain truth of scripture and will even foolishly look outside the Word to bolster their position... all we can do is pray that the Holy Spirit is able to open their hearts to these truth's.

I can see you have not studied the words of Jesus regarding new covenant principles for keeping the seventh day holy.

God said these things would happen in the last days and the anitchrist has a goal to make it happen. In order for this to happen it has to start from somewhere outside of Scripture. So to me, there is no power in quoting people outside of Scripture to prove the seventh day is no longer holy when Jesus plainly taught us principles regarding necessary activity on the seventh day and never once did He mention the first day.

What's interesting, if you read his post, is these things happened almost 2000 years ago. Not in the last days. There was 1800 years of Christians going to church on Sunday before God sent EGW

Who's EGW?

The word of God says that God spoke to us through Jesus in the last says. The last days began in the days of Jesus. The Bible says the spirit of antichrist was already at work in the days of the apostles.
