Today was my first day on the slopes this year. Still not enough snow, but it's looking good. I'm mainly an alpine skier, but hope to put in some time on the bc's and the snowshoes too.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Nice! Haven't gotten a chance to go skiing yet, but I would love to! Do you do those crazy skiing down mountains stuff, taking choppers up to mountaintops?

I fell maybe 20 times.
It's winding down, but we've still got a few more times left, I hope. Maybe someday I'll be in a position to head down south in the summer and ski a bit in your hemisphere!
If one is lucky up here, there's year round skiing if you're willing to earn your turns (do a bit of hiking)

Earning turns? I actually would've had good reason to do that this year. Just a week or so ago all the local ski hills were still white, but the last one closed end of March. 2 (not so local, 4 and 7 hours north) hills are still open, weekends only. My favorite hill actually got 16" a couple weeks ago, and 20" + the week before that; with very little melting or snow loss since actual winter.
CRAZY year! 16' in 8 weeks starting mid-Jan. 3 days in Feb with 0 measurable snowfall, 3 days in Feb with over 1' of fresh.
I didn't get my first day in til March 1. 13 days this season, made more fresh tracks than the rest of my life combined! 3 weeks + since my last day and my legs have still not recovered ...

I am really looking forward to skiing. In january I plan to go to the rockies for a weekend of skiing and snowboarding. So far it looks like we will have the best snow of the year.
Love skiing for a long time, never miss a year of skiing.

this saturday, I will be skiing in Banff National Park, Just heard that they have a snow storm there today, so must be prime snow conditions for skiing. Im excited. and wish me luck!

The ski trip was awesome. 4 buddies and I enjoyed the day skiing in various terrains. the snow condition is slightly good. clear and sunny and not too cold. had a blast considering afterwards, I could barely walk. Looking forward to my next ski trip.

Yeah i've been keeping my eyes on the winter olympics. Im a proud supporter of the Canadian athletes, and they are doing very well.
