So who would vote against a key ideal of a stable democracy? In a resolution that is nothing more than a PR stunt to say 'yay, peaceful transfer of power'? The same wording as in the Senate resolution that passed unanimously last week?

The five Republicans who voted against the resolution were Reps. Matt Gaetz (Fla.), Louie Gohmert(Texas), Clay Higgins (La.), Steve King (Iowa) and Thomas Massie (Ky.).

No surprise that a handful of agitators/Trump loyalists voted against. At least the majority of Republicans can agree on a fundamental tenet of our government.

Trump said, "let's wait and see what happens." There are 100's of thousands of mail-in ballots floating around encouraging voter fraud.

People have already reported being sent multiple ballots. It has been reported a few days ago that ballots from the military were found in the trash, they were votes for Trump.

If Biden wins and voter fraud is evident, Trump will not leave office, and I don't blame him.

Then the SC will decide.

Are those the ones that were tossed because the voting laws were changed after they've been sent in?

People have already reported being sent multiple ballots.
Yup, the label printer ate some labels they fixed it and started reprinting the ones that were destroyed they end up printing two of some.
It doesn't matter. The ballot can only be used by the person it was sent to and they can't use both ballots. There is a safeguard against that which also keeps people from voting at the polls and by mail. Even if someone managed to do it, both votes will not be counted.
It has been reported a few days ago that ballots from the military were found in the trash, they were votes for Trump.
Turns out that report was inaccurate two of the votes were for Biden.
Originally the state said that if the ballot wasn't in the secrecy envelope/sleeve they were told to discard those ballets. At the same time, there was a court case where it was decided that they shouldn't be discarded and could be counted.

"Inactive voters, 200,000 of them were mailed ballots all across the greater Las Vegas area," he said, "and we have no way to know if these are going to lead to massive voter fraud, and they continue to sue to get rid of signature verifications and to enact the California-style ballot harvesting right here in Nevada."

Those five should be voted out.

Given their states, I don't think they will.

Districts matter more than states. There are reliable "Dem" districts in each of those states.

Steve King has already lost his primary.

Massie and Gohmert both have strong challengers, but it is a definite uphill battle. I've heard both challengers interviewed. Gohmert is a clown and his district knows it. Massie also engages in stunts, most notably when he forced the whole House to return on a 400-3 type vote for one of the early COVID bills while most of the country was on "lockdown". There is some chance of his removal because the three counties that provided the biggest R->D transition (two of them flipping, one just getting closer) in the 2018 KY Gov election were the three well populated counties in the Cincinnati metro that were the biggest help in the Dems winning that governorship.

No.

The Supreme court will only be involved if there is a law suit to challenge:

1. A group of ballots that were counted and one party thinks shouldn't have been.

2. A group of ballots that *weren't* counted and one party thinks they *should* have been.

3. If the state legislature names a slate of electors in conflict with the apparent count of the peoples' votes.

These cases would go first through the lower and state courts, but would expect to rise rapidly on appeals given the sensitive timing.

But the SC can only rule about a matter at issue (are these ballots to be recognized, is the legislative slate legal, etc.) they do not decide the election.

THEN, the EVs are cast in the state capitols (mid Dec) and counted by congress (early Jan). Congress has the final say whether the ballots are properly cast in the EC.

If Trump has 270 or more EVs then he will get a second (and final) term, unless no one gets 270, then it is the candidate who gets the vote of 26 house delegations that will become president on Jan 20. (Let's not get worried about what happens if no one can get that vote just yet.)

Where were the 33 absence or abstentions?.

King is a lame duck.

I don't know, but there was another vote that day with a very similar list of non-voters. Usually this is because they were otherwise engaged, including out of town. It doesn't look like anyone was "avoiding" the vote. (No one voted "present".

No worries here! It will be settled by Jan. 20.

That happened during the primaries when ballots were sent to inactive voters, they have changed the law for the General election. And no signature verification is not going away. It sounds like they need to do a better job of keeping their records current. For me the main issue is that every ballot is verified and properly handled by the electors.

More than 223,000 mailed ballots were returned to Clark County as undeliverable mail during the June primary, according to a report by the conservative-leaning Public Interest Legal Foundation and confirmed by the Review-Journal.
...
For the primary, election staff verified the signature on each ballot and, according to Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske, there were no confirmed cases of fraud.
...
Recent changes to the state’s election laws stipulate that only active voters will receive ballots in the Nov. 3 general election, so it’s likely the number of undeliverable ballots would decrease under the current plan.

More than 223K mailed ballots returned undelivered in primary
