  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Who do you guys use for webhosting?

I'm looking to change my hosting and am wondering what people use out there. My site will be redesigned so I'm fairly flexible as to specs but I would like:

  • Decent amount of space
  • Reasonable bandwidth for a small site and to allow for growth in the future
  • PHP & MySQL
  • private CGI-bin would be nice
  • POP mail
  • Domain hosting

So if you have found a good, reliable, cost effective host, please post and let me know. Likewise if there is anyone I should avoid, post and let me know! :)

Thanks!

I use fluxservices (www.fluxsrevices.com). It's really inexpensive. $7.95 a month gives you:

500mb of space
20gig transfer/month.
2 databases (chioce of MySql or PostgreSQL)
I think 2 subdomains
Unlimited e-mail adressess.
PHP enabled
Private cgi-bin
A few web apps/cgi's including messageboard (choice of two, uses one of your databases), shopping cart, chat room, etc.
A really easy to use and intuitive control panel.

Their support is really good too, I needed shell access to the domain I put in a ticket and had access in under an hour. Their uptime is really good too. I don't think my site has been down for any significant amount of time.
