  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

It sounds like you are of the world rather than of God.
There are like 1.9% of Christians in Israel. One of the lowest in the world. And the majority of them are Arab Christians, anyway.

Someone who lived in the Roman provinces of Syria or Judea?
Being Jewish is more than Judaism. If you are a descendant of the people of Israel, you are a Jew. If you also have accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are a Jewish Christian.

I thought that made you an Israeli (Israeli-American, etc.), just like being descended of the people of people of Germany makes you German (German-American, etc.)

You can call them either. Of course, a Jew who is descended from Germans and is a Christian would be a German Jewish Christian.

The problem with your odd definition (back two posts) is that most Jews aren't descended from people who lived in the State of Israel.

Yeah, but can I guess correctly what you mean by it? It'd be faster if you would just say.....
The context of the conversation was treating Israel as God's people. I pointed out that only about 1.8% of inhabitants of Israel are Christians. And most of them are even Arab Christians, i.e. immigrants. Christians from Jews (i.e. Jewish Christians) are basically 0%, there.

Therefore, it is nonsensical and absurd to call the modern state of Israel God's people, from the Christian perspective.

Jews are descendants of the 12 tribes Israel or more precisely "Judea".

Right. We're doing good work here, telling other people who they really are. We need more practice, though. We told Palestinian Muslims who they really were but they don't seem to be buying it. Maybe if we told them louder?

There is some not very reliable way to prove that somebody is from the tribe of Levi, based upon common Y-chromosome, but this is not a 100% proof.

Regarding the other tribes, the genealogies and connections have been lost for millennia. Historical exiles and assimilation have erased clear lineage records. Jewish genealogy can often be traced back a few centuries, but going back to tribal affiliation from biblical times is not possible with current evidence.
