Hello, dee :)

The verse which I offer is Hebrews 3:6.

But Christ is faithful as a son over God's house. And we are his house, if we hold onto our courage and the hope of which we boast.

There's a song which I really love.....

Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

When things get tough, I find it helps to remember all that Jesus went through when He was here on earth, and to remember that He understands all our pain and confusion, all that we struggle with, and that not only does He love us, but He intercedes for us and has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. I look back and trace the path where God stepped into situations that arose and I see clearly the way He led us through those things so beautifully. I remember the joy as I acknowledged God's hand in bringing us through quite appalling situations at times. Darkness seeks to overcome the earth, but His light can never be extinguished. Jesus has triumphed over evil and His desire is to journey with us. I pray you turn your eyes upon Jesus and surrender all to Him, that He may bring rest to your soul. God bless you with the hope that is to be found in Jesus Christ, dee.

PS My character is ready for a screenshot now. :)

Oh - I'm ready for my screenshot. :)

I chose my background b/c the stately evergreen with its unchanging color represents the hope of eternal life in Jesus. The flowers represent Spring - the renewal of life.

The dove signifies peace - for God gives us peace of heart when we place our hope in Him.

The blue top is to use another color that represents hope/healing.

The white pants are to represent the purity of God. In Him, we are made pure of all of our sins and transgressions. I can't think of anything that gives me more hope than that!

Hi Dee. :) hugs..
I am not going to join the game, but just wanted to drop by and offer some encouragement and hope to a fellow sister in Christ. and one dear to my heart :).

Psalm 121 says "I lift up my eyes to the hills, from where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, maker of Heaven and earth". How I love that Psalm. It has ministered so much to me through the years and have a beautiful picture of it hanging in my living room, complete with an eagle on it as well! (that's my other favorite thing, eagles)
Scripture also says that a heart without hope makes one sick, to me a heart without hope has no light. :( It's always dark until there is light, right ? And the entrance of God's word brings that light, just as you are having done here with this "game". Funny how these "games" minister to us. :) God is in everything we do, if we allow Him to be.
When we find that darkness around us, we have to stop and find that light, listen for His voice, and be still. Sometimes we are there because we either can't hear His voice, or because we hear it and just don't want to listen. ;) I've been there many many times. Thank God He did not leave me there! When we do reach out and find God's hand waiting for us there is that reassurance that all is right with us, with our world. His presence is there to calm, reassure us, and protect us. God will never leave us, nor forsake us. Of that we can be sure, because God is a God that cannot lie, and His word says it is so.
The future can be so scary at times. I know that is a place I am at right now. I, too, am going through some hard times, and times of trusting God, not knowing what is going on. I know when we throw our whole self into God, we feel His presence, and the presence of fear has to take a back seat, because it cannot stand in the way of God's light and His presence. When it's dark, we stumble and fall all over ourselves, but when He's there, there's enough light for us. One of my favorite author/teachers said "When we walk with the Lord, the dark is actually a place we can never fully be". You love Proverbs, and it says in 5:21 "For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He ponders all his paths". He's always there with us, and will direct us.
I pray God will show you the hope you need today, Dee. "Show me a token of hope that I might not despair...."(Psalms)
love and hugs

Ready for screenshot and here is my verse: Romans
8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

It seems when I remind myself that it is not about me but about Him that things fall back into proper place. I think the whole chapter is good but this one verse sums up the hope issue for me. Tough times make me fall back into repeating and dwelling on simple bits and pieces of verses such as "be still", "lean not", etc.

My bible has this small message which goes along with this verse, I would like to share it with you during these difficult times:

"God may be invisible, but He's in touch. You may not be able to see Him, but He is in control. And that includes you - and all your circumstances. that includes what you've just lost. That includes what you've just gained. That inlcudes all of life...past, present and future." C. Swindoll.

Dee,
I think we all struggle with that more than once in our life. I know I have. More and more I realize as I grow in my walk with the Lord that every little thing that I go through really ultimately has nothing to do with me at all. Well, it does, it build character in me, and makes me stronger, but what I go through really has to do with what it will bring about. What purpose does it serve? What life will it reach? Therefore being all about Him, not about me. I gave a devotion at my women's ministry group October 1st (was the speaker there ) and I spoke on waiting. I'll share it here for you. Maybe it will apply, maybe it won't, but hopefully someone will be ministered to. Even writing it, it ministered to me. And remember as you read it, this goes back to my walk with Him years ago, and things I've learned along the way. Hugs. :) I'll try to post that today. site went down for me last night..:)
