Some important information pertaining to this poem.....My sister was attacked a few weeks ago during daylight business hours by five people (3 females and two males). I experienced a tremendous onslaught of emotions for aproximately 3 weeks which I had to come to the Lord to deal with.................They pulled "chunks" of her hair out of her scalp leaving aproximately 5 bald spots. Her hair is extremely thick and the hairdresser styled her hair in such a way that the bald spots are well hidden. The first court date is May 25th (coming up).

She had a complete breakdown years ago (this could have triggered another one) but this time she fought back. Truly God is in control of EVERY situation in our lives! She was pulled from her car driver side window by her hair by a man who beat her and broker two of her ribs. At that time she was pregnant with child............the same child who is now five years old who watched in horror a few weeks ago screaming hysterically in the car while they beat his mother. He is now terrified to go out in public and every time someone comes toward us he shakes from head to toe and vomits. He heard them say they would be back to finish what they started if she called the police.

The following were thoughts that stayed in my mind so I placed them to share.

HOPE
Beaten down, abused...no where to run or hide in the outside world.
Abandoned by those one thought would stick by and help their light shine once again.
Feeling nothing, eyes no longer seeing the beauty which surrounds them, empty, vacant, staring.
Retreating deeper into the recesses of the mind, bolting shut the vault door as the lights go out.
Curled into a ball............safe from the outside world.
A light slips through a small crack in the wall of the vault.
Bright, warm, dancing while a gentle voice beckons, come out, and be comforted.
Curious, the vault door is unlocked and pushed open a crack.
The light, now intensely bright, unlike any light ever seen before.
A warmth never before experienced, a hope springs up within and the vault door is opened wide.
Two arms outstretched and the gentle voice says, "Come to me and I will give you rest."
Laying ones head on His shoulder as he gently rocks to and fro.
Soaking in His presence, a soul once more is saved.
