  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My husband and I didn't really have a honeymoon. We spent the weekend doing whatever we wanted, driving around in the '62 (?) mustang that my husband's buddy loaned us for the wedding. What I would really love to do is save up and take a trip to Ireland so I can visit county cork where my family came from. Michael would like to go, though he isn't sure where his Irish blood comes in to play. I think that if we really end up having a belated honeymoon though, it will be somewhere closer to home. My husband is terribly afraid of flying, and I don't know if I could handle floating for that long.

My husband had just started a job and really couldn't get to much time off. We went to Baltimore, Inner Harbor for the weekend. For our first anniversary we drove up to the Finger Lakes in New York and toured the wine country. We also splurged a bit and stayed at the Belhurst Castle there, it was worth it.

We went to Couples resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.

It was really nice, I would recommend it to anyone for a vacation.
I'm going there on vacation in 4 weeks. Did you like it?

We went to Grand Lido Sans Souci in Ocho Rios, Jamaica for our honeymoon.

We were also limited in our funds, but my wife wanted to do the wedding on the cheap and take a nice honeymoon. So, we did things like fix the food for the reception ourselves, buy the cake from a grocery store, get her dress dirt cheap (it was last year's display model in the store), and used her brother to film the wedding.

That allowed us to go the St John's and St Thomas for a week.

In hindsight we made absolutely the right decision. We don't feel like we were cheated on the wedding, and we still love looking at the honeymoon pictures and remembering.

This was 13 years ago - we went to San Fran (from Connecticut) and then continued down to San Diego, stopping in various places. That was my last time in California :sigh: . Would like to go back, it's a beautiful state.

My husband has no desire - he got food poisoning in San Fran and it ruined half our honeymoon. Oh well, at least we're still happily married. :D

London, England. We were both living overeas when we met each other. We decided to fly back to the States for the wedding so both sets of parents could attend, so we were able to fit London in on the trip back. We were there in the winter so even though it was gray and cold, it wasn't the tourist season and we didn't have to wait in long lines or pay peak season prices.

We didn't really get a true honeymoon. Our wedding was on a Saturday, we finished packing on Sunday and on that Monday we moved about 4 hours away from our families so my husband could start school at a new college. So really our honeymoon was a week in our new apartment in an unfamiliar city before he started school and I started work. It was nice though, I don't regret it one bit. More money towards a house.... someday :prayer: I want a house! :)

We did not get a honeymoon either...we were married on the wednesday before Thanksgiving which was Nov. 27...we really did not have the money to go anywhere right then but the next year we went to Ruby Falls in TN and we also stopped by the Huntsville, AL on the way home and got a very nice room and ordered room service LOL so we called that weekend our honeymoon.

We went cheap on our wedding so we could have an awesome honeymoon. We went to Pigeon Forge, TN and rented a cabin for the week. This is actually the cabin we rented: http://www.mvcabins.com/cabin_13/log_cabin_13.html It was very private, and when we went the cabin was brand-new! We also went to Dollywood (Dolly Parton's theme park), shopped our lives away at outlet malls, and went into Smoky Mountain National Park. We spent a lot of time walking around Gatlinburg, checking out cheesy tourist traps and just enjoyed each other's company. We actually got to go back to the area for New Year's Eve this year. We spent New Year's in Gatlinburg, watching a ball drop like in Times Square. It was awesome!

Our wedding was the last Sat. of our spring break while we were in college. So we didn't get a honeymoon either because we too finished packing and went back to school on Monday following. We hope to take a cruise sometime when the kids are all a bit older. maybe for our 15th in 5 years.
