If homosexuals are born gay - then the assumption is, there must be something in their DNA which makes them that way. Where do we get our DNA from....our parents. How many homosexuals have kids? Hmmmmm...not too many. So it seems quite illogical that if being homosexual was indeed in ones DNA, that it wouldn't last much further than the first generation of homosexuals.

Also...what about Darwin's "survival of the species." The basic idea is that species either adapt to survive or they die out. How long with a species survive that can't procreate? Wouldn't homosexuals either die out....or adapt to being heterosexuals?

Well, first we have the recessive gene argument... and then we have the fact that until recently homosexuals were under immence socital pressure to marry and have children in spite of their desires.

My tentative conclusion is that if we just let them do what they want, and not associate them, they'll eventually die out. But if we force them into "Get Straight" programs and make them hide out in a mockery of a Godly union, they'll keep having kids in spite of themselves and they'll never go away.

Well, there is the recessive gene argument, or a mutation that could occur. also, I know lots of gay people (lesbians actually) that have kids. I'm one, my brother, and about 30 more. (but, that's because I was raised by my lesbian mom, so I know more)

also, it's becoming more and more accepted for gay people to have kids, using modern technology to help them.

Or we could try reaching out to them with the love of God. All sinners need to hear God's Word ... He wants us to spread that Word ... and never give up.

According to Romans chapter 1, at least some people are gay because they reject God. How do you reach out with the love of God to people who have already determined to reject God?

Lambslove, are you saying that we should just "give up" on them? That they are already lost with no hope of being saved? Do you really think that is what Jesus would do? If God had given up on me on all the occasions that I had rejected Him then I would be in big trouble!

There are a few theories put out to explain this:

1. Social pressure to marry. Because marriage was not seen as optional in many societies, homosexuals would marry and have children despite a lack of desire.

2. Kin selection. Having an extra pair (or two) of hands to help gather resources and defend children will promote the well being of the children of a family or tribe. This advantage might be strong enough to offset the lack of fertility of a small part of the family or tribe.

3. Benefit for partial carriers of the genes. If a gene helped a woman attract a stronger mate, have more offspring, or take better care for her offspring, the advantages could outweigh the disadvantage of having a child who does not reproduce. The trait also could be unrelated to sexuality, such as defense against a certain disease.

All three of these mechanisms would allow a "gay gene" to survive.

God can do all things. However, God does not do anything that He does not will. God will never give us anything that does not make us more dependent on Him. This is why He does not remove us from temptation. Temptation can remind us to go to God for help. If God prevented us from being tempted, we might fool ourselves that our lack of temptation is due to some action of our own rather than completely dependent on God. Therefore, continuing homosexual attractions are not a sign of a lack of faith.

Man-man/woman-woman sexual intercourse is not God's will and it is God's will to break such bondages.

It may be an instantaneous deliverance or it may take some time but God will do it as long as the homosexual keeps on believing.

A male friend in the army finally admitted to me that he was gay. He's a tongue speaking Christian and is born again, according to him. I told him that as long as you are born again, there is no condemnation. However, I told him that it is the grace of God that will change him by the power of the Spirit, not his self-efforts and will-power or gay rehab dos and donts.

he told me that he is involved with a Catholic man. ie they are living in sin. I passed him some sermon tapes and encouraged him many times to go back to church. As far as i know he hasnt and keeps giving excuses. so i question his sincereity to let God change him, and as long as one does not want to be helped (by God) but wants to continue in that lifestyle, nothing much can be done. but God is faithful.

I didn't say that God wouldn't help His followers to stop sinning. I said that God wouldn't necessarily stop temptation. His action will be determined by what is going to be the best for the individual.
