I have a question about this. and first and foremost, I'd like to make it known that I am NOT homosexual.

A friend of mine today found out that I knew he had a crush on me. He asked me what my reaction to it all was... I didn't want to tell him straight out that it's wrong, because he can't really help it, and I still consider him a friend. I guess what I need to know is how to let him know how I feel.. like "What's a nice way to tell someone that they are going straight to Hell?"

Thanks for the help,
Ian

Well, there's no nice way to tell someone that; conveniently, you don't have to. If you want to talk to him about religion, stick with the gospel message; leave the question of what he should do about his sexuality between him and God. God will know what to do just fine.

See here's the big problem;these are the last days before the tribulation starts and Satan is running around like a chicken with it's head cut off.Unspeakable immorality is sweeping across the nation, homosexuality being just one outburst of the sickness and degredation that has become the norm in a society that obviously has a uncontrollable death wish. Some perversions have become extremely popular around here. homosexuality being a good example. So much so that in some cities in order to insure election to local office,it's necessary for politicians to ride in the annual "gay pride" parade, right behind the float with the naked perverts lying on it.That's why it's so absolutely necesary that Christians MUST speak out against immorality when they see it because increasingly society doesn't see it.For instance another new norm that just went into effect in the last few months,is that it is now accepted that nations have the right to invade other nations and commit unspeakable war crimes in order to change political leadership. The last fellow to try that was Adolph Hitler.

You've probably heard the saying,"it's not so much what you say but how you say it".What that translates into is that you can tell people unpopular truths if you do so in a mild-mannered fashion while making it very clear to them that you do care about them and are concerned about their welfare. So in talking to those living in extreme sin,not only is a quiet voice needed, but non-offensive words are needed also. The word "hell" scares people and although it works well in sermons,it will anger people in private conversation. In addition, there's the basic fact that none of us know who will escape hell and who won't.So phrases like,"homosexuality is completely against God's will" work alot better. But don't expect success.Just within the last few months,Satan has been really working his perverted butt off in the homosexual community and some homosexuals have now become demon possessed while many others are now filled with just astonishing hate toward Christians. So your goal should be to explain the biblical teaching on homosexuality without getting bashed in.Increasingly it's becoming next to impossible to get homosexuals to accept Christianity.Welcome to the last days.STAY BRAVE,IT'S ALMOST OVER.

This debate seems so black and white at the moment. I cannot believe God would condemn anyone for having these feelings. If he were to entertain his thoughts and feelings and/or act on them though he would be commiting a sin (Romans 1:27). Somehow you need to assure him of God's love for him whilst firmly pointing out the need to steer clear of that lifestyle. Telling him he's condemned is a really bad idea - first tell him about Christ's sacrifice on the cross for everyone regardless of their sexuality and you'll make in-roads.

Yours In Christ

Currently I am doing a debate over Gay Rights in English. It's really hard because the main basis is Biblical. I can post it here when I finish if you like, maybe it will help, but it's mainly to persuade those that disagree that it's wrong. The only advice I can give is to keep it set in you mind that it is wrong and love those people. Hate will not win anyone to Jesus! Blessings,
Jaina

I feel sorry for homosexuals. Most of them feel like you do. In other words they hate themselves.
That's got to suck. Have some mercy.

I agree, though I’m not a homosexual most Christians don't help them, in fact most of them are running around saying aids is the wages of their sin, and that they reap what they sow! And also claim God has the hottest beds of burning coals waiting for them in hell! And that they are perverts who twist scripture.

It makes me angry that many Christians do not understand the Gospels, it's not about condemning people, it's not about vanity, it's not about pointing out peoples sin, it's not about judging, it's not about correcting, and it's not about being self righteous.
That the only way we can change people is by showing them that they are valuable to God, and that God is mostly interested in their hearts, people will only turn from their sin if they have a change of heart!!. Showing them the love, compassion and "forgiveness" of God, has more of a chance of doing that. All have fallen short, let love be your only debt.

I guess I’ll get flamed for being a Luke warm Christian, because I have respect for gays. :sigh:

No dear one, you will not be flamed from anyone who understands the Gospel (THE GOOD NEWS)!! Homosexuality IS a sin but there are many sins listed besides this one in the Word of God. It says in The Word that above the sin of homosexuality is the sin of 'a dividing tongue that causes strife and fighting among the brethern'!!! Too many folks like to skip over that one....

You are absolutely correct. Hate pointed at anyone who sins, is WRONG!!! It says so IN GOD'S WORD. Paul tells us if we say anything that is not said in love we are making noise like tinkling brass in God's ears!! We can point out to those who are in this lifestyle that it is a sin in God's eyes, but only when we approach them with LOVE. God's people should not ever attack others or harm others because of sin! I know in my own case all I have to do is hold up a mirror, my own sins are scarlet, my righteousness is as filthy rags!!! Only what Jesus works through me and in me is good.

Christians do not condone the homosexual lifestyle but a true christian understands that LOVE is the key to helping anyone out of the deep hole any sin has placed them in. {{{hug}}} Just keep your heart filled with His Word. We need to love and pray for those brothers and sisters that in their zeal for Him, have forgotten the message in His Words.

Good post cyberwing :pink:

I really wish more people had your hate the sin but "love" the sinner attitude.
It's good to see that you have love and respect for people, this is the attitude God wants us to have.{hugs}

I don't think a homosexual will go to hell. Before that person dies God can change that person. Seems to me Christians think everyone will go straight to hell. Nobody is perfect. Not even a Christian. I personally feel that if a homosexual goes to hell....so should a woman who has an abortion since she killed the life that was forming in her womb.

I wonder why Christians "think" they can say someone is going to hell. Last I recall only God has the sayso, not Christians. Stop judging and condeming people to hell when God can change their life before they die. Gosh...sometimes I really strongly dislike Christians for judging and thinking they are better than others. Judging sends even Christians straight to hell.

Precious one, you are right. I would say something here though, remember these zealous judges are our brothers and sisters in Christ. They desperately need our prayer. Not all who call themselves by His Name are good ambassadors of His Love because they have not understood the whole TRUTH, the message of The Gospel! Have mercy on our brothers and sisters who have fallen into this trap of the enemy. They need our love and prayer to guide them out of the snare the enemy has set before them to feel self-righteous and elite. WE ALL FALL SHORT of the Glory of God!! Have mercy on them too. Try not to get angry with them, (I know, sometimes I want to slap some sense into them in my flesh too!!!) but try to instead get angry with the spirit that is blinding their eyes! For we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but with powers and principalities.....

Keep loving and giving them back to Jesus!! {{{HUG}}}

Hi Beanface,

While you might get lots of opinions and some good ideas/advice in this forum, you will find people who can more readily answer your questions through ministries that help people who struggle with homosexuality.

I recommend finding out info through Exodus International. This is a Christian ministry specifically for people struggling with homosexuality.

Here's an excellent book.
Portraits of Freedom: 14 People who came out of homosexuality
I read through this book during my own research on the topic, and it's really excellent. Each chapter is dedicated to (co-written by? i forget) an actual person who has struggled with homosexuality and gained victory through Christ. From what I recall, these people were helped by the folks at Exodus Ministries. (At least, I first found out about Exodus by reading this book!)

What struck me most in reading this book was the realization of the horrible child abuse that each of these people endured; whether sexual abuse, physical abuse and abandonment, verbal abuse, etc. Many of these people believe that the abuse is what set them on the path of homosexuality.

Those testimonies of child abuse is a big part of the reason (along with the Bible!) why I: 1) believe that people struggling with homosexuality need to be treated with love, not condemned with judgement and hate, and 2) fighting for "gay rights" is the wrong fight since it doesn't offer the kind of freedom and peace that so many people need.

Anyways, don't worry too much about things. Surrender yourself to God in prayer and Scripture, and allow God's Holy Spirit living within you to be the friend and the witness that your friend needs.
