We were created with specific organs that all work together yet have specific functions. The cardiovascular system pumps blood throughout the body and thus supplying it with oxygen and vital nutrients....and we have another set of organs in which we call the "reproductive system." The purpose of this system is to prepare or maintain the body to (hence the name) REPRODUCE. I know it comes as a shock that our genitals were not created so that we can experience pleasure whenever we want. The pleasure that comes along with sex is not the ULTIMATE goal, nor is it why God created us with them. Is sex pleasurable...of course. But so is eating...but was our digestive system created with the purpose of experiencing the pleasure of eating, or does it have some other significant purpose???

Great post. And if you are still struggling with your temptations I will pray for you. I know how difficult overcoming vices can be, it's not easy.As many of you know, I am a Christian man that has struggled with unwanted same sex attractions my entire life. Unfortunately, I gave in to that desire for years. I still have a very strong desire to be able to be sexual with another man. However, I cannot logically look at the Bible and say that it is not sin. I wish I could. However, there are numerous verses in the Bible, and the only way to be able to say it is not sin is to reinterpret, twist, make excuses for, make assumptions, and basically see what you want to see.
For those that read the Bible and have rationalized homosexuality, does it bother you ANY that you have to take numerous verses from the Bible and change the way they read, make complicated explanations for them, and/or eliminate them altogether for various reasons?
How many verses have to be manipulated? Basically, if you can read the Bible and justify homosexuality, then you have the ability to justify ANY sin you want to.
- One verse is only condemning unhospitality
- One verse is only condemning homosexual rape
- One verse is only condemning uncleanliness
- One verse is only condemning male prostitutes
- One verse is only condemning engaging in homosexual acts during pagan worship
- One verse is only condemning heterosexual men engaging in homosexual acts
- One verse the word homosexual was translated wrong
Six years ago I repented of my homosexual behaviour. Do I still have same sex attractions? Absolutely. Do I wish there was some way I could still engage in sex with other men? Absolutely. Why is it wrong? I dont know, other than that God said so. That pretty much ends the debate. I can't imagine myself standing before a Holy and Almighty God and trying to justify having sex with a another man. Even if it was the only man I ever had sex with and we were in a monogamous relationship. I just can't fool myself into believing what is obviously not true.
There are psychological benefitsand hotrmonal balances caused by reproductive organs... you can dislike the pleasure aspect of it all you want,but that doesn't change the fact that the physical and psycho-social benefits of pleasurable sex are well supported.The reproductive system, and don't say pleasure.
