  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If I offended anyone with the animal comment it was not my intent, and I apologize. However, it should be noted that I didnt compare it to 2 consenting male adults...the Bible did, in verses back to back. I just stated what it said. These verses are back to back in the same chapter.

22 " 'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.
23 " 'Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion.

Sorry, you'll have to excuse my bluntness, that caught me off guard.

The Holy Spirit aids the believer in understanding, and teaches us how to see things through Spiritual eyes - that is, beyond the letter and to the spirit of the words. He also grants us supplication and grace in our every day lives to learn to consistently apply that understanding to our attitudes and approach to situations and how we treat people we encounter.

Those verses are also not all ONE LONG sentence. They are separate verses that you put together. Don't you know when you read verses they are not all one verse? LOL

Obviously, we'll never agree. Like I mentioned earlier, I have nothing against you. You are my brother in Christ. LIke I mentioned to you earlier, I WAS you 20 years ago. I struggled with SSA and I wish someone had cared enough about me 20 years ago to try to show me the truth. It would have saved me a lot of unnessary hurt and problems. I love you brother.

I told you...there is a difference between the purity code and Mosaic law. The Scholars agree this falls under a purity code violation, even the Conservative Tony Compalo believes it falls under the purity code in this chapter. Romans 1 is the ONLY argument, and it is weak at best. You cannot use pagan worship/idolatry to prove that same sex, monogamous relationships are wrong.

I love you brother. I really mean that. Even though you dont want me to, I am going to be praying for you. I wont pray that God makes you see it MY way, I will pray that God gives you wisdom to see it HIS way, whatever that is. That shouldnt bother you, because if you are right about what you are saying, then God will only confirm it for you as I pray for you daily. I just dont want to see you get messed up like I did.

He doesn't ask any of us to change who we are. He asks us to submit to Him, die, and be reborn in Christ, though.
