The second paragraph here, along with the woman at the well, is why I said he would not have flipped out, even if it is, a sin.

the first point is good, but it needs to be pointed out that he sometimes, after he quoted Scripture, he didn't always uphold it. Like "you've heard it said 'eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth' but I tell you this, do not resist and evildoer..." turn the other cheek/walk the extra mile. Or "Moses allowed you to divorce because your hearts were hard, but I say, what God has put together, let no man set assunder." We can tell that he would have quoted Scripture, but where the conversation would have gone from there is anybody's guess.

For the record, I don't think he would have flipped out either. The eye for an eye statement wasn't in answer to a question, it was showing them a new way of looking at things. It was to get away from the vengence cuture as the OT also says Vengence is mine, says the Lord, I will repay. Eye for an eye was a legal sentence which was actually quite lenient for it's time.

Let's imagine someone coming up to Jesus saying "Look Jesus, I know scripture says we're not allowed to have sexual relations with the same gender, but what about if I just do it with one person?"

While I can imagine him responding with love and guidence, I just can't see him saying "Sure, go ahead".

I see it this way. Homosexuals are going to hell, but who cares? Why would you want to go to Heaven? It's full of conformists and people who don't know how to have fun. It says in the Bible you have to be saved to go to Heaven, but you only have to be yourself to go to Hell. Where would you rather be? Would you rather go to Heaven becaused of someone you're not, or go to Hell because of the person you are?

You'd rather go on existing as the miserable, fallen creature that you are for all eternity? That is, best case scenario. Worst case scenario,

Isaiah 66
24 "And they will go out and look upon the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind."

So you are prepared to conform to rules made by a Church who's #1 goal is to make a profit, in order to get into heaven?

The Church has absolutely nothing to do with a person's salvation. God has not handed the keys to heaven to anybody, and nobody other than him has any choice in the matter. (except, perhaps, the person being saved or not, though people debate that.)

My you're angry at someone.

What makes you think Hell is a pleasant place and what makes you think Heaven isn't fun? It reminds me of the people to say it's better to rule in Hell than serve in Heaven. Why do they think they'll be ruling in Hell. Do they think the Devil will be happy with them, cause I think it be more like 'Hello, sucker!'.

You have stated in other posts that you think Christianity is rubbish, but what do you believe is the truth.

Who said anything about the Church? If Christ died and was resurrected, and God is Creator and absolute Father of Life, do you think it matters one way or the other? If I go my way, I walk blindly into death, wickedness, cruelty, greed, malice, scorn; if I go His way, I walk knowingly into life, righteousness, love, empathy, compassion, and Truth. What answer do you think is best?

Do you think "Church" is a building or an organization somewhere?

So what are you going to conform to? TV adverts? The idea's of your favourite rock star? A magazine you've read, perhaps. How do you decide what clothes to wear, what food to eat, what car to drive? Everyone conforms to something and everyone is after your money.

The church should be different. I'm sorry if you've experienced one that isn't. Please keep trying.

I simply don't agree with how Christians have manipulated the word of God.

See that's the thing. Why is it we can't be ourselves and have to act like we are someone we aren't in order to get into Heaven. What I'm saying is, if I have to do that to get to Heaven, then I'd rather be in Hell. It's like the old saying, 'Would you rather be loved for someone you aren't or hated for someone you are?'

I don't have to conform to anything if I don't want to. The Church in general (and by this I mean Christianity) is facist. The Christian teachings are that you have to conform to a set of rules and guidelines in order to get into Heaven. It's not Heaven or God I don't agree with, it's Christianity. I love my God and I want to spend eternity in his Heaven. But I hate the God of the people. If you get what I mean.
