Interestingly enough, sex outside of marriage can be a problem because it may result in a child without a proper family, yet homosexuality falls outside of this for obvious reasons.  The point is that not all apparently unharmful consentual things have no effect on others.  Perhaps there are good reasons for God's law outside of "God said it" that we simply cannot think of (not that there has to be).

Traditional and "holy" marriage would be threatened...how? Denominations either will or won't participate in gay marriage ceremonies. It doesn't really matter if none of them do; gay marriage could be a purely civil matter. If it were to be a civil matter, what would you care? Extending the same benefits (joint tax returns, insurance benefits and the same legal rights as widows and widowers) that straights currently enjoy hardly seems like the end of civilization as we know it.

If you want to talk about a moral issue, Cammie, perhaps you would like to explain to us why institutionalized discrimination against loving, lifelong partners is alright.

Legal marriage is a legal issue. Individual churches are free to decide on their own what marriages they bless, but they should not deny others the ability to enter into a legal relationship with another person.

No, your right to live your life the way you want to is not infringed by my right to live my life the way I want to.

As far as "degredation of marriage" homosexuals do not do that, but heterosexuals do through a little thing called divorce.  do you know which state has the highest divorce rate?  it's Oklahoma, the Buckle on the Bible Belt.  Until the wowsers get their own house in order, they need to keep their noses out of others' business.
