Determining the sexual orientation of a child molestor is difficult to do in the first place. Trauma from their own molestation affects the way they interact with people, skewing any sense of "what they would have been, if not for..."
It goes a little something like this:
girls who are abused tend to internalize their feelings about it. Rage, hatred, depression, sadness, whatever, tends to manifest in self destructive ways: suicide, cutting, promiscuity, drug use...
boys tend to turn their feelings outward: fire-setting, violence, and reinacting their own experience with others. One of the major clues that a child has been molested is that he may try to touch or penetrate other children, not "experimentally" but regularly, deliberately, and sometimes compulsively. Sometimes this happens in adulthood, also. This is how they learned how to interact with the world--sexually.
During a social-work internship I had a while ago, I heard of situations like, a young boy reports that his brother touched him. The brother, 15 reveals that he was molested by his uncle, who was molested by his father...and so on and so forth.
Some people will try to call this "recruiting" by "homosexuals," as if an adult molesting a child is some type of seduction. It happens, but it is a cycle of abuse, same as if they were beating their children, who went on to bully others.
The terms "child molester" and "pedophile" are not interchangable. A pedophile is a person who is sexually attracted to children. They may or may not act on it. I suspect that the majority do not, in any way including porn. I think that there are many more pedophiles in the world than people generally believe, but most never do any harm and are fine, decent people with a thorn in their sides.
A child molester is a person who molests children. They may or may not be sexually attracted to them. Some (most, perhaps the vast majority) are reinacting the abuse they experienced as a child. Some simply enjoy the power trip, or like abusing/hurting children. Some are pedophiles, and are trying to have something like a romantic relationship. They are generally very immature, and can't handle an adult relationship.
Some child molesters have a gender preference for their victims, many don't.
Many have and enjoy adult relationships, some are "fixed" on children. The latter are, if memory serves, generally more disturbed and immature. In their case, I don't think a "sexual orientation" can be discerned, since they are acting almost entirely out of their abuse trauma or other pathologies, to the degree that they are incapable of holding an adult, sexual relationship.
So there's that.
