I don't watch it myself, I only see it if it's on when I'm out somewhere, but just from the very limited amount I've seen, I think its been quite a while since you could reasonably call Home and Away a family show. Certainly not a show I would be wanting my family to watch.

Just my opinion.

What was your best and worst episode of Home and Away and your opinions?.

I think that the perfect episode of Home and Away would be like this:

A mysterious stranger with a dark past comes to SummerBay (it is SummerBay right?), and rekindles a previous romance with the town’s most popular girl. This infuriates the young local cop who was harbouring a secret crush on her. In a fit of jealousy, he tries to pull them over in his police car while they are driving to a romantic picnic in the countryside. The mysterious guy runs from the cop for reasons unknown, crashing his car in the process.

The car bursts into flames, but the couple are dragged from the wreck by a very intelligent dog (I’m sure Charlie the Wonderdog could be brought out of retirement). The now remorseful cop races them to the town hospital, where a doctor pronounces that they are not expected to survive the night.

Meanwhile the burning car starts a bushfire, which races through the surrounding area, almost destroying the homes of several major characters, and damaging the local youth drop-in centre, which was about to be developed by an evil landlord into a 20 storey block of Meriton units with a golf course. All seems lost until the old lady from the café organises a town fundraiser, where they raise enough money to buy the youth centre and save the day. The end.

havent watched H&A for aaaageeessss... i do believe it has some good moral stories to it, (wen you take all the bad stuff in it and then say thats the way this world isnt meant to be, if you can get people to see the way most of those charecters act is not the way we should act then thats wen you can make it good) *stops to ponder if i know wat im on about*

any way a few too many episodes hit my nerves too, so i thought i better stop watchin it to minimise my my extreme emotions...

the one charecter i absolutely extremely dislike is that coleen arrrrrrrrgggggg..
cant emember 2 many episodes so cant comment on best or worst.

i haven't watched it for ages, i used to watch it occasionally, but not anymore.

i think portrayal of events, both good and bad, that happen in everyday life within the context of TV, movies, &c. is good, so long as the overarching theme is one of the conquest of love over hate, of good over evil, of life over death, of truth over falsehood.

we need to be careful about getting all worked up over the portrayal of immoral activities or things we disagree about in a movie or TV show if in the end what is right wins out anyway. for example, although i think apocalypto is a terrible movie (in terms of the racist portrayal of pre-colonial South American cultures), if we look past all the blood and the sacrifices and the violence & other things we regard as immoral, we see a triumph of good over evil, the heroic young warrior escapes from the enemy to save his family, and endures 2 days of running and hardship in the forest, and ultimately love and goodness, hope and new beginnings are the final result.
