Well, the "Magesterium" idea is purely fictional--a talking point. No one actually keeps tabs on what all the bishops of the world think about this or that religious theory; and we know for a fact that when some of them do oppose the majority's opinion on something or other, it's discounted as being "wrong." So that Magisterium theory is just talk.

True enough, but how does the Magisterium go about deciding doctrine? It pulls from tradition and scripture to define its Tradition. But what criteria does it use? Not apostles (unknown oral traditions), not catholic (taught everywhere by everyone), so how?

EO uses something different. So what is the method that determines "Holy Tradition" for one camp and not the other?

Good question. A mystery that has kept me up more than a few nights.
This may be a job for the professionals at Murkey Research Co.
I'm almost sure there are as many descriptions of it as there are experiences of it.

...kind of like the OP itself, ...not exactly terra firma, if you'll pardon my Latin. ;)
