Only get five here.

A New Zealander that doesn't get pay TV. Never seen an episode of Kim Possible (I know, Sophos, I'm going to hell). The only religious TV is on Sunday mornings I think. Sleep in till noon = easy to avoid.

On the other hand there have been a lot of religious letters in the local paper lately (read that every day)

No. If I remember correctly, religious TV shows are on weekday mornings as well. Must wake up early tomorrow and check.

Yes, it's that "religion" season again. It will pass.

What!!! You've never seen an episode on KP? Blasphemy!!! If you can't get pay TV, then tune in on saturday morning to channel 2. You can cleanse yourself of your heinous sin there. Do so, and you shall be spared from decapitation by me and my Glamdring!!! :D

Penn and Teller Creationism episode?

Do tell...

Another "revealing the tricks of the trade" exposé? ;)

The Creationism episode of their series Male bovine feces.

On a side note, I attended the James Randi Educational Foundation's conference in Las Vegas, NV - The Amaz!ing Meeting. Teller spoke. While I didn't think he was mute, and fully expected him to participate in their Q&A session, it was odd for him to actually vocalize.

Since Creationism has been so utterly debunked on the Internet, I'd suggest renting a copy of the tape or DVD rather than buying it.

Ah, unfortunately although I'm a 12th Level Creationist Slayer (Retd.), I'm only a 1st Level Computer Hacker.
I use this proxy to view the site: 209.175.79.77:8080

to change your proxy in Internet Explorer, click

Tools - Internet Options - Connections - LAN Settings - tick the "Use a proxy server for you LAN" box

then copy 209.175.79.77 into the Address box, and 8080 into the Port box.

Close your browser, and when you re-open it, you should be able to view the sho . com site. To revert back to your default proxy, just untick the "Use a proxy server for you LAN" box (I keep the IP in it so I can switch quickly between them incase I want to view the site again).

sometimes the proxies don't work, so I just use other ones until I get one that works:

:)

(oops, I can't post links because I'm new)

Apparently Kent Hovind's offer is completely rigged. There are several web sites about this subject. Also, Kent Hovind isn't a real PhD either, and (in most scientist's opinions) should not be allowed to use the title "Doctor" for himself at all. He has never completed a real PhD thesis, and not at a properly accredited academic institution either.

There are a few web pages that discuss him and his offer further:
http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/hovind.html
http://www.nmsr.org/hovind.htm

and my favourite:

Ack! Can't access those pages outside the US!

Any synopsis anywhere?

Sorry about that Karl, I forgot about the block. If you don't try the proxy server trick, here's some reviews of the entire series from amazon.com

Steveseo, don't bother wasting bandwidth with links showing what a charlatan and liar Hovind is. He's well known as a PRATT fountain by most of the regulars here and just saying he'll full of it is sufficient for most drive by newbie Creationists.

I love watching/listening to Hovind's debates. My favourite one so far has to be the one vs Massimo Pigliucci on Infidel Guy radio, certainly the most heated I've heard (although I admit I've only heard about 7 of his to date).

The radio debates tend to be the best with some nice discussions, with the live "audience" ones they don 't really get to argue with each other (it's really just speech segments).

I dislike how he implies the Evolution vs Creation debate as "Theism vs Atheism", just to get more support for his view from the audience.

:)
