• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

 Hello,

I'm new here to ChrstianForums, and I just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully make a few friends.

My name is Kristina, and i'm just recently finding my faith, and I can't express the feeling to have found a christian support group for me.

I'm 22 with Bipolar II disorder, and Borderline Personality disorder. That's a lot for anyone to deal with, let alone family and friends, and mine have been great. My fiancee of 3 years has been wonderful, he gpes to my visits with me every other appointment, one visit I go to alone, and talk one on one with py psychiatrist, the next he and I go as a couple, and just recently my family has grown to understand how this affects me, and has started researching and learning about my disorders.

It's good to finally find a support group that will both be supportive in my growing faith, and also to know I am not alone.

It's nice meeting you beforehand!

Hi Kristina! It's nice to meet you! I am kind of new also as I have just come back from a long absence from CF.

:)

I also am diagnosed with both Manic-Depression/Bipolar Disorder (Type I) and Borderline Personality Disorder (which has also been pretty severe at times), so I can really relate to what you have probably been going through.

It's good to see you here and I hope you find the support you need here at CF!

Hi and welcome,
I no longer officially have the diagnosis of BPD, but I have been in therapy for 18 long years because of it. I lost my marriage due to the disorder, and my inappropriate behaviors.

I just want to encourage you that there is hope.

Hugs,
Trish

My diagnoses are severe major depression with psychotic features and Borderline Personality Disorder -- couldn't focus on my grad school work when I had a relapse in 2003 and was dismissed from grad school :sigh: I went back to live with my mother and got on SSI (Social Supplemental Income). Not really the life I anticipated for myself, but it is quiet and peaceful. (I am taking my meds, which help immensely.) Also, having so much spare time has given me the opportunity to have set times for prayer every day; serve as a catechist, lector and Eucharistic minister at church; and to become a Lay Carmelite (I'm Catholic).
