  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I can't wait for Hockey to start
go Canucks

Ha! Not this year. They're in for a world of hurt. Their president's trophy, cream-of-the-western-crop days are over. The Sedins will already be booking tee-times in March.

We have Trevor Lyndon and a new coach and new goalie and Ryan Kessler was traded I am looking forward to this new year

Linden and the coach won't be on the ice. Never mind that Linden as president was little more than a marketing ploy (don't get me wrong, I like him, but he's unproven in management).

I will admit that Miller was a good pickup considering their situation, but he didn't help the Blues too much, and they're a better team.

And losing Kesler, a regular Selke candidate, for next to nothing doesn't make them better.

The only real thing going for them is that they're in the western conference with fewer teams fighting for a playoff spot. So that gives them a slightly better chance. But they are in a rebuild, so don't get your hopes up.

Thanks for Kessler by the way, he has been a great addition for the Ducks! I was pretty upset at some of the losses to the Ducks lineup this year, but the way they are playing they look as good as last year. I just hope they can do more than fizzle out like the Sharks come playoffs this year

Of the so-called Big Four Pro sports (football, baseball, basketball and hockey) I only follow the first two all season long. The latter two peak my interests come playoff time. I'm a San Jose Sharks fan, so I've gotten used to heartbreak. :p

Red Wings!

I ain't got no problem with the Red Wings. Aside from the Original Six rivalry with my Habs (which is maybe third on the list after the Leafs and the Bruins), they're a good team. Actually, regarding coach Babcock, a close family friend married into his family so I have a bit of a soft spot for him.

Babcock is a heck of a coach, no question about that.

Yup. Some people will say that he had it easy since he had a lot of talented players to work with, but my opinion is that having a lot of talented players makes it just as hard as having no talented players. In a different way, but he's still got to keep egos in check and use his tools the right way.

Agree.

Scotty Bowman is an example of that in his days in Montreal where he was loaded. Granted, he won in Pittsburgh and in Detroit as well.

Babcock has also had teams with boatloads of injuries and kept them very competitive.
