Hillsong Music

Hey yall,

I am fan of their music. I use to listen to Hillsong until I stopped the last 5yrs and then recently checked out their new albums.

Anyone here listen to Hillsong music? Below is a list of my latest favorites. I would like to combine our resources and if you don't mind adding to the list of my favorite Hillsong if its not listed?

I've played a number of their songs in our p and w band. Not bad. The trick is to not try and duplicate in live music what is on their recordings. All in all it's ok.

Haha you are right. When we play them in church, forget about reaching some of their insane high notes.

Hillsong is my favorite!! One of my faves is "all for love"... very underrated but the melody is unlike any other Christian song I've heard and the lyrics are very encouraging. Also love oceans (who doesnt?), the stand, Hosanna, all i need is You, mighty to save, from the inside out, cornerstone, and a few more

I tend to listen to the older hillsong songs.
I haven't 'followed' them in the past 5 years.

They try and churn out new music every year (or twice a year) and usually only 1 or 2 songs are great, the others (I feel) are made to push the new albums.

It's a pity they don't revisit some of their great older classics.

I think 'The Potter's Hand' is one of the best worship songs ever.

I'm not sure if they could revisit their old stuff that well. Some of that older stuff was great partly because it lacked the slickness and polish that they have today. I think if they re-did something like 'The Potter's Hand' today, it would look overproduced.

That part of your comment is pretty judgmental, you know? Beyond musical opinion, which is fine, and starts making conclusions about their motivation and heart.
