I wonder what people think would have happened with Ukraine if supposedly hawkish Hillary Clinton had won the Presidential election. I'm hoping this thread will be irenic and adhere to the forum rules.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If we are talking about 2016-2020.
All we can reasonably suggest is that Hillary wouldn't have put pressure on Zelenski to publically appear on USA tv and announce an investigation into Biden or Trump. Hillary wouldn't have sent her personal lawyer to Ukraine to try to get this done, Hillary wouldn't have fired the USA ambasador to Ukraine because she was resisting this pressure campaign on Zelenski.
But other than that, who knows what Hillary and her administration would have done?
Would they have supplied Javelins to Ukraine???

I suspect her Administration would have been more friendly to Zelenskyy from the start. Provided weaponry sooner, or rather not held it back in 2019.
Ironically, I suspect Putin may have invaded earlier so that he could accomplish his goal *before* Ukraine was fully embraced by "the West".

Remember this is a hypothetical question (I assume they are allowed on the forum). Hillary (with two ls) stood in 2016 (and won the popular vote) and could hypothetically have been a two term president.

The policies themselves wouldn't be any different. This was always the goal, to push Russia into war. This is a party war, one who wants war between the U.S. and Russia.
I suppose they think at the end they'll be able to oust Putin and make Russia west friendly.
I have a feeling this plan will backfire, and us plebeians are the ones who will pay in blood.
All Trump has done was to postpone it.

We all have our opinion, I'm as entitled to mine as you are to yours, and the Washington elites, be they Dems or other, have been pushing for war, flat out, using the Ukraine as their pawn to do so, for a very long time now. This isn't a shock.

No they are not. If they were a no fly zone would have been instituted and you'd be looking at nuclear Armageddon.
What they are doing is trying to dissuade Putin from stepping over the redline that would be an invasion of Estonia, Poland and other NATO countries. It is the opposite of promoting war. The warmonger is Putin.

The question is not whether she would be aiming for war, but whether she would have pursued policies that would have led to war. Given that in the second presidential debate in the 2016 election, she called for the enforcement of a no-fly zone over Syria, where the Russians had already placed some of their best air defense artillery, it’s not unreasonable to suppose so.
