I have read the lyrics to this song, and they really speak to me. People say it's not a Christian song, but I do. How do you feel about it? Not heard it? Go read the lyrics and reply. I really want ot know your thoughts on this. Im thinking about playing this song at my church. Thanks, God bless.

A: Learn to type in proper English. You're 18, not 12.

B: The Bible says nothing like that. Learn what you're talking about before you speak. The Bible talks about how getting drunk is not good, not drinking. Otherwise, Jesus himself, along with everyone else in those times, would have been a sinner as they all drank wine.

C: I despise the whole "this song must be Christian because the lyrics sound like it" idea that a lot of Christians seem to have even when the writer didn't have that intention when he was creating the song. But whatever floats your boat I guess.

I am duh 1 who wrote dis thread. Haha, i like to type like this 2. Its funny. TerraSin, what are you, an athiest? Sure sounds like it. By the way.... I think the lyrics: "to a place with golden streets, can you take me higher, to a place where blind men see" is definitly talking about the bible. That's how the bible describes heaven. Go look it up.

Because I'm an artist and a realist. I wouldn't want my music to be twisted in ways that it wasn't meant to be taken. Interpretation is one thing, completely bastardizing someones work to promote your own religion is another.

Hardly stupid. If anything is stupid it's trying to Christianize everything you see and hear so you can feel better about enjoying it.

To OP: The song was written by Scott Stapp (lead singer) WHO IS A CHRISTIAN and if you listen to Creeds Greatest Hits album, most of the songs have pro-christian themes; Higher, Six Feet From the Edge, What's This Life For?, Arms Wide Open, Sacrifice. Look up the lyrics for those songs as well as the rest from the album.

You remind me of a coworker who is actually in the same room right now. He also gets very techinical which by itself is no problem. But...coupled with constant need to prove othes wrong or different, can become a source of frustration or resent. I pray nightly for God to help me deal with the thick air at work. Dont become this. God wants us to have relationships to be kind to each other, not break each other down.

Are you a Christian? And i dont mean one who calls themselves Christian but doesn't truly have a relationship with Jesus. There is no need to actually answer my question...its actually a question for you to ask yourself. If you know what it means to be Christian then you know that we try everyday to live more and more like Jesus. I cant be sure but im quite certain that Jesus did not speak condescendingly to people. He surely did not want people to feel stupid. You say you are trying to rid the world of stupidity...well there are far better ways of doing this than slamming people's opinions or intelligence on a forum where you arent face to face with anybody. Do something that truly helps inform the world like teach, or join church groups...you must know the bible front to back right? Do what God wants you to do and try your best to live like Jesus and spread the Good News about Jesus, not go on a personal mission to rid the whole of something. You are not spreading love with your messages...you are spreading frustration and hurt. Good luck with everything. I will pray for you.
