"Im not the one running into to people!"

Eric decided to ignore this idiot and keep walking with jezebel and her friend whom he still didnt know the name of. He hadn't really been listening when Jezebel screamed it. He still had Hendrix stuck in his head.

James watched as a wall of muscle moved out from behind the stacks and headed for the door. That guy would definately make it on this schools football team, he thought as he watched him leave.

He saw Laina check her watch and it reminded him that his stint here in the library was over. He smiled handsomely and added "I think I better get going, the bells about to ring. Do you know what your next class is? Perhaps I could help get you there."

Laina tried to remember what her next class was since it would be a bit more impressive to know her schedule already than have to look at it. But as the bell rang, she pulled out her schedule to check anyway.

"Oh well, I guess I've forgotten already. Let's see, looks like I have English next. I think I can find my way on my own." After all, how would it look if she were seen walking with a non-jock? As she turned to leave her heart skipped a beat and she hesitated a moment as she realized that she had already told him that she was in English that period and was doing research. Maybe he won't notice, surely he has forgotten already that I said that earlier.

Jezebel was throw out of her world of extreme happiness by a boy running into them all. She sighed as Eric retorted. Then a big, football-player-ish boy came and introduced himself to all of them. "My name is Jezebel. Oh by the way Eric, this is my best friend in the whole world. His name is Blake. We were in middle school together, and then he moved away, and then I moved here, and now coincidentially he is here too!!! Doesn't it sound like a movie?!"

As Blake extended his hand to Eric some jerk pushed his way through them. Eric just ignored him and Blake was about to intoduce himself when Jezebel already did. "Well I suppose that is just about it," Blake laughed "Yeah it would make for a good storyline in a film wouldn't it?"

James raised his eyebrows quizically, then softened into a smile. If this girl wanted to lie about why she was in the Library during second period that was her business, he wouldn't push her on it. He watched her walk out of the Library knowing how pathetic it would look for him to chase after her. She was a beautiful, smart, cheerleader and he was an outcast, skater, library assistant! Who was he to think he had a shot with a girl like her. Even being her friend would prove difficult, since girls like her didn't usually want to be seen with boys like him.

He reached for his bag and pulled a folded slip of paper from the Volcom wrist band on his left wrist. The schedule said he had English next period as well. It was usually his best subject. Depending on how the teacher was. He really hoped they had an interesting class this year. He couldn't risk getting bored and slacking off to another "D" this year. His mother would kill him if that happened.

"This is supposed to be a year of new beginnings," James muttered under his breath, the smile on his face vanishing as he saw the onrush of students in the hall. He made his way down to English, hoping Laina didn't think he was a freak stalker or something.

Laina quickly walked through the hall, but she made sure she didn't appear hurried. She was embarrassed now and all she wanted to do right now was get to her class and disappear into just another student for the next hour. She had finally met someone who seemed genuine and not hiding behind some role like all her friends.

As soon as she walked into the classroom, Laina realized she wouldn't be able to get what she wanted. Ashley, a girl on the cheerleading team, was there already sitting in a desk near the back. Laina hopped a bit and threw her hand in the air waving at Ashley who returned the greeting. Laina bounced over and sat in the desk next to Ashley. The two girls exchanged greeting of "oh my gosh, how cool is it that we have class together?! Yay! How was your summer," and so forth. Laina of course would have to spend the whole hour like this except that when class actually started their conversation would be reduced to send one another text messages on cell phones hidden on their laps.

As James entered the class room the bit of sunshine he felt in his soul seemed to simmer out as he saw that Laina was sitting at the back of the class next to a bubbly cheerleader who seemed to epitomize the stereotype. Blonde, giggly, like totally empty headed *giggle* ran through James' mind as he shook his head and headed to a desk in the back in the opposite corner of Laina and the other cheerleader.

Slouching down in his desk, he pushed his hair out of his eyes and retrieved a composition notebook from his bag. James flipped through the first third of the notebook, which was filled with diagram, sketches, and scribbled notes, and opened to a fresh page. This notebook had been with him for nearly three years. That was when he had originally began working on The Brood Chronicles, and although everything seemed to be ready for him to begin actually writing the book, he just kept putting it off by second guessing himself.

Taking a finetip pen from his bag James began drawing out a wide open horizon with the sun just beginning to rise in the distance.

Laina saw James enter the room and sit a few desks away. She wondered why he didn't mention that he also had English, maybe he thought they were in different classes. It wasn't that big a deal, she was excited to have a class with him. She almost waved at him, but remembered that Ashley was sitting next to her. She looked around at the other students. There was no one else here that she knew, if it weren't for the fact that Ashley was here, she could have sat next to James and get to know him better, but she knew that it would ruin her reputation if Ashley started spreading rumors about her hanging out with a guy like him.

For the first time she felt really angry about the restrictions placed on her by her mother and her so called friends. She had always hated it and was usually depressed because of it, but now she was really angry. She was struggling inside wanting to throw off all her restrictions now by changing seats, but being held back by everything that was expected of her. Her internal battle was interrupted as Ashley asked her if she was okay.

"Oh what?" Laina asked turning to Ashley. "I mean, yeah, of course. I guess I'm just a bit moody today for no reason. Have you ever had days like that?" She giggled making sure she kept the mood light. "I think it must be this whole teenager stuff."

Ashley responded, "Oh I totally know what you mean. This one time ..." Laina blocked her out as she went on about a pointless story about a bad hair day.

Tori glaced a glanced over his shoulder at the two cheer leaders. she rolled her eyes at the sight of them, great, more mindless wonders.

Tori looked back at her notebook, she wasn't going to make the same mistake she made at her last school. they may be a bit stupied and look like fun, but they were ruthless, expecialy if they think your competition. Tori had learned that clicks are murder to try and infiltrate.
