Hello, my name is Jamie and I'm new here. I have been online searching for forums where I can get idea's for our youth group. My husband and I have just been asked to be youth pastors at our church. We still have some training to go through yet, but we will be taking over in July. I'm scared, nervous and excited. We go to an Assembly of God church. My husband and I are both 30 and we have 2 kids.
So, if anybody out there has any great idea's on how to start the youth group (we already have one, just looking for some ideas to make it different) or any idea's to make it fun to keep the kids attention....well, really just ANYTHING, please let me know. I can use all the info, inspiration, encouragement, I can get right now to get this off to a wonderful start.
I might just lurk for a bit to get the feel of things and then I'll hop in on discussions and such.

Welcome to CF Jamie! There is a great section on youth groups under the ministry section. You will find plenty of helpful people there. We also attend AOG and are involved in ministry (music). There is also a great couples section, one on parenting and a 30's fellowship. So, you see, there is plenty you can do here. Drop by the Blessing Exchange too, its a fun way to chat with people of all ages and earn blessings by playing little chat games or bring in a contest of sorts. Just have fun!
