Hey Big Toe!!! how ya doin? just chillin today. was suppose to be taking a physical today to see if I can re-enlist but some scheduling complications arose and have to do it at a later date.

just been sitin around the house with a huge nasty migraine headache today. other than that, nada.

{singing} I told him, I told my husband... la la la la He was supportive and very helpful....la la la la He agrees that I should attend what will be my first AA f2f tomorrow! ....la la la I'm not scared to go anymore, I'm looking forward to it... la la la la Today is 7 days of not having that first drink... la la la la

{she stops singing with glee} Admitting that I'm an alcoholic and starting AA might not save my marriage. But, at least I don't think it will be the cause of the end of my marriage. {resumes singing} So, either way, I'm happy I told him... la la la la .

This is great news! Your going to a meeting AND its day 7 AND you have done Step 1.

Your husband being supportive will be a big help. When possible, see if he maybe interested in Al Anon - the "AA" for the family of the alcoholic so he can undertsand what your going thru, the hows and whys.

But first, find the meetings (note the plural there) that you will like to go to and then get to know the folks at each one.

Not to wax poetic but your taking the first step in a lifelong journey of growth.

I really want a drink today. Don't know why today. Guess just trying to make so many changes in my life these days and it gets to me sometimes and I want that escape.

Pretty tired and pretty lonely these days and I guess that doesn't help much.

Oh well, hope everyone is hanging in there. I'm hanging...even if it's only by the thinest thread.

I do love to poke fun at my woes. Helps me cope.

Gettin over a nasty head cold. Weather got better and we are actually building again. Hope all are happy, healthy and wealthy.

hey all. just been doin a lot of ponderin. almost lost my ex this weekend (#3 - my favorite ex). she got real bad sick, tract infections, etc, blood presure dropped to about 80 over 20 when in emergency room then later spent from saturday till today in the hospital.

didnt realize during this how I apparently still feel about her. scared me to think I could have lost my wife (well, ex).

funny how things can become different when your sober and you see things and people thru sober eyes.

Hey Norm, Sorry to hear about the ex. I hope your head is not attacking you. Mine does that to me sometimes. That pondering thing slides into what if, but, maybe. To everything a season, I guess. Hope all is well with her. You got my #. If you wanna talk, give a call Brother.

she got to go home last night but will be in bed rest thru the rest of the week. our teenage sons will be helping her around the house (or at least they better be!).

but she is on a regimen of antibiotics as well as potassium, gatorade type drinks (electrolytes replacements), bananas and potassium pills.

she aint totally out of the woods yet and needs to take it easy for a few days so she wont relapse.

gotta go to work. laters.

I'm checking in to let everybody know that I still haven't had a drink since Jan.15. That e-aa.org site has been a lifesaver for me! It's also the reason I'm not here much lately. I get on there first, last, and in between. My husband has been putting me through the ringer since I stopped drinking, and my marriage is in the pooper. But, I still don't need a drink today! And, whenever I need an understanding ear, I go chat with my new AA friends.

The other part of the AA fellowship, that I truly love, is the people who have told me that something I said, or an experience I shared, helped THEM to stay sober. It just feels good to know that I might be helping others while finding help and support myself.

Hi Kanga, I'm really happy for you. You sound great. They use to tell me that you could tell when someone was getting it, because they looked like they were in love. Of course, I can't see you but I hear you loud and clear. Three cheers for success!!!
