Hi everyone! I found this site a few days ago, and I guess I've been just hanging out, checking things out. And I'm finally introducing myself (I'm kinda shy sometimes...) So hello! Um, something interesting... I am in my second year at a Christian university, and majoring in music (French horn performance). Home for the holidays, yay! CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm not only new to these forums but I am new to the faith.
I received the Holy Spirit only on the 7th of December this year.
I give my thanks (of course to the Lord) to my Christian buddies who were praying for me.
Prayer really DOES work!!
Incidently I read somewhere that in the initial period after accepting Jesus into your life amazing things start to happen. (other than of course meeting God and being Saved from Hell) Is this true?
Well all I know is that my football team keep winning and I've lost almost 7 pounds of weight in three weeks despite the fact I've been pigging out on really fatty food and havent been exercising. This is good because I am on a diet and I do need to lose weight.
Maybe we need to tell all the overwieght beleivers to forget the Atkins Diet, try Jesus Christ insted.
If it became known that Jesus helps you lose weight then there would be millions of instant converts all over the western world.
