  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Your story reminds me of an episode of Cheers where Sam Malone was told by one of his girlfriends that she was pregnant and that he might be the father. He raised his hand to God and swore that if he "got out of it" he would never have sex again until he was married.

It turned out that he was not the father, and he was relieved. But he was now stuck with this vow he had sworn to God and he wanted out of it, so he went to see a priest about it. After explaining the vow to the priest and going into detail of how bad he felt about the vow and how he didn't think he could keep it, the priest looked at him and said, "am I to understand that you have had sexual relations with a woman who is not your wife"?

It was funny.

You should see a priest. He will be able to help you.

You still have the addiction. Do you want to be free? Christ Jesus can make you free, forever. He has vowed. (our vows are as ropes of sand).

Surrender wholly to Christ Jesus, delete all such things from your computer, tv, phone, pictures, everything. Turn off the computer if you cannot help yourself. Cut off these things, pluck these things out.

There are things you can physically do to help curb the cravings.

1. Pumpkin seeds to replenish the zinc you are losing each time in 'release'. This loss of "zinc" affects the brain and eventually will cause serious physical, mental, spiritual problems.

2. Water. Drink this, not sodas, not caffeine, no alcohol, and if smoking, go on the five day plan - https://www.christianforums.com/thr...ogram-dr-arthur-weaver.8078589/#post-73096769

Even if not smoking some of the tips in the five day program will help you.

3. Hot/cold therapy. This is explained here - https://www.christianforums.com/threads/hydrotherapy-body-relief-stress-relief-pain-relief.8078517/

Use it when you have strong urges, to help relax the body, and the cold will really help.

4. Prayer and fasting (not the last, this is no particular order), first, seek God, and get out of the thinking and situation (near a computer, tv or phone) and move to another place.

5. Godly music, see here (can be heard here)

6. Read or listen to the scriptures -

7. Read or listen to the events of Gethsemane and Calvary (can be heard here, Chapters 74-87)

8. Take a break from eating flesh meat, hamburger, hotdogs, steak, etc. and eggs. These things increase the animal passions of the flesh, becuase those things are filled with hormones, drugs, etc and blood. Also remove things like mustard, spices, pepper, which inflame the blood and systems, Cook some good food - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLeFIDisZ08E2_t4ZeAO8kwrRLo9YKxJob

The right Food will help heal the damage you are physically doing, which will unburden some of the mental and spiritual.

9. Christian brother (if you are a brother, sister if you are a sister), who will help pray with you, or can call if needed to talk to, or through.

Think on these things

Php_4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Joh_16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Yes, God can and will forgive you still, but go to him and confess out loud all, in every detail. I want you to consider the links provided, especially the audio on chapters 74-87. Sit in a quiet room and just listen. Think about Christ Jesus and what He went through. Think that your own sins, including the breaking of the vow, has cost. A terrible price. Allow the Holy Ghost to bring conviction, and pray (talk to God).

Mat_12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Heed the Holy Ghost, who is speaking to your conscience. You are not yet lost, and not beyond God's mercy, otherwise you would have no such conviction. Believe His words, in blue, and also in red.

True repentance is to never go back. If you have to, unplug the computer and remove it from you for a while. Store it at a friends house or up in the attic, or hard to get to place. Make it more difficult to be near trigger points. Think of where you were, what was happening that began the first trigger, the time of day, event, etc, and where you first failed to say 'no', OUT LOUD. Re-enforce your decision.

Always ask Jesus in that very moment for help.

Joh_15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

But:

Php_4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Hello God4life12345, thank you so much for being so open and sharing this with us. I know that it must have taken a lot of courage for you to post this. Thank you. First, let me just say that I had the same problem. When I was very young I found some magazines that my father had and that started me down the path. I am here to tell you that I have not looked at a woman lustfully in 15 years! Christ redeemed us from the bondage of sin when He was nailed to the cross. Though I think the entire Bible is of upmost importance, there were specific sets of scripture that I would meditate on and ultimately memorize, embedding into my heart.

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 We are all sinners! When sin entered the world through Adam and Eve, everyone has been struggling with sin ever since.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 Accepting Christ does not mean that we will not sin; it means that our sin is washed away and thus we have eternal life.

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.” Matthew 5:27-30. First, Jesus says that you can commit adultery just by looking at a woman lustfully. That means that looking at pornography and masturbating are sins according to His word. What I LOVE about this passage is that Jesus does not simply give clarification on the sin and leave it at that. Instead, He tells us how to remove the sin from our life! What I did after reading this and praying about it was remove anything that caused me to look at a woman lustfully or touch. This included installing Trend Micro and turning on the website blocker, eliminating all pictures of woman in my home that triggered a response within me, turned off cable tv, and removed televisions from hotel rooms when staying in them. These may seem like radical actions, however Jesus said to “gouge out” and “cut off” anything that causes you to sin.

The proof, though, is in the results. As I wrote previously, I eliminated this sin from my life 15 years ago. What I did not mention was that it allowed me to meet my wife at church and we have been married for 11 years now. So please be encouraged that you can overcome this.
