Well my contention is that if we are to take the passage to be a literal tree then it is not outside the power of God to create a single tree that bears 12 different fruit and this is growing the thing from seed

There is no modification of anything needed in the Heaven.

1Cor 15:50 I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

No no. You abused the power of God.

God gives us logic (and science) so we do not make any suggestion like what you said. God can do anything. But God also gives us a guideline on what He will do and what He is not likely to do. If God does something special, such as the Global Flood and other miracles, then He will tell us that it is special.

One tree bears one type of fruit. That is what we learned on the earth. And it will also be true in the Heaven. Gold on the earth will still be gold in the Heaven.

And the joining of earth and heaven, restitution of all of creation unto himself is not special?

But the closest thing we'd say to the Tree of Life is the Cross and it only became the Tree of Life because Christ was enthroned and sacrificed on it.
