  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just putting this out there. I'm a music based life form (but especially metal), old fashioned RPG player (my games are all about pencils, paper, dice, and frequent bickering over Rules As Written vs. Rules As Interpreted), reader, anime/J-drama/Godzilla fan, and miniatures painter who veers center right libertarian politically (yes, I voted for President Trump and I won't apologize for it). I could use a new friend or two, and why not start by reaching out here a bit? Not looking for a relationship or anything like--happy bachelor here and keeping it that way for the foreseeable future, until the laws change anyway. What say y'all?

Thanks! I confess that if I were to choose a denomination, Lutheran thus far would be the front runner. Martin's attitude towards sin and the world was eminently practical, IMO. I'd need to look further into it to see if it gels with me, and even though it took until the 1980's for the Lutheran Church to disavow his anti-Semitic views he had near the end of his life, better late than never, I motion.
