  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey!

I'm Miep (pronounce as 'meep') and I'm from The Netherlands. I was introduced here by The Soulfire, a very close friend of mine. We (or actually me) are are trying to figure out exactly how close. hehe...

Anyways, I'm a Christian (like doh!), but I haven't figured out yet what type suits me best. I was raised Reformed, but now I think I'm more of a Protestant. It doesn't really matter to me, as long as it's with God.

So well... I think I'll have a good time here (after figuring out how to navigate through this HUGE forum). Oh well... I'll manage :)

I already know how close that is, actually. ;)

This is indeed a lovely place, a lot of interesting reads and thoughtful answers. I'm sure this is not the last time it'll come in handy.

As for the size... I had some trouble at first but well... the search feature helped me a lot :)

edit: oh, btw.... you now have all my blessings. 9 are not much but that's all I have :hug:
