I will say it gladly. I could easily be wrong, given the number of times in my life I have been wrong before.

Oh, me too.

I am willing to accept however God made the universe, whenever He made it. No problem.

While I am convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that the earth is old and that God used some form of evolution as part of his creation, to think it can be absolute would be just pride and hubris.

I don't know if my position on our origins is correct. I belive beyond doubt that I am correct, and can not see me interpreting the scripture any other way. But I will accept that this disccussion Has nothing whatsoever to do with salvation, I will also accept and state that the ICR and other creationist ministries need to shutup when they stand in judgement of our Christian brothers and sisters who dont agree with them. I have learened a great deal of things about the ministies I held in such high regard on this very forum and for that I thank you all. To all the TE's, OEC's you are my brothers and sisters, and for such I pray that God bless you in a mighty special way that you may have hedge put about you, That you not be wavered buy such atacks on your faith. This issue reminds me of the "speaking in toungue's issue" a man told my father that there was no way he was saved because he had never spoken in toungue's(unknown)and after some baddgering he no longer goess to chruch and has turned his face from alll things biblical, so it seems to me one persons interpretation of scripture has cost him his faith. He was so hurt by the accusations that he felt he could not hold his head up in church. To my YEC brothers and sisters, Lets not be responsible for such things. I remember Christ once said that " It is better that a millstone be cast around their neck and cast into the sea than to hurt one of these my little ones" as we can in no way pretend to judge someone's salvation from this issue lets please dont cost them theirs based on it. Christ paid far to high a price for vance(no offence vance your just kinda popular) for me or any other to think the price wasnt paid and I belive withouth doubt that he is a christian and as such he is my brother and as such I love him regardless, Now I could say that I'm just trying to help him that, he Is losing his faith and blah blah blah. But I m sorry It seems to me that his faith is intact but maybe ours isnt we dont seem to have enough faith that Christ grace is truly sufficient that it can cover these issue's, well anyway there was a point in there. May God truly bless you all, My brothers and sisters

sorry about the rant

I am human and my understanding is limited by my humanness. As always, I could be wrong about creation in my interpretation of scripture and God's natural revelation. But as always, I seek to better understand the truth of God's revelation and not to justify my potentially incorrect beliefs and interpretations.

some of you remember that old commercial with the owl being asked how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Lollipop?

So, how many posts does it take to get to the center of a TE/YEC debate?

Believe me, I know I could be wrong. The very fact that I changed my mind from my original position of YECism, even though all the rest of my family and friends are YEC, is indicative of my willingness to say I'm wrong when my belief system is duly challenged. The one thing I will not do is blindly accept an interpretation of Scripture like I did as a child with YEC. I know we're supposed to be childlike in our faith, but our faith is to be in God, not in our interpretations of Scripture.

Well, actually I do know but I just can't prove it. So I guess I have to admitt that I don't really know...is this a trick question?
