  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

that the Bible talks about poop? :sorry:

Deuteronomy 23:13 And you shall have a spade among your tools, and when you relieve yourself outside the camp, you shall dig with it and turn to cover your excrement.

Just thought that was interesting. :sorry:

Interesting, yes, but how much more so when you read on and discover the reason for the command in v. 14, the implications of which still (for lack of a better term) 'amazing' to me nearly 22 years after I first read it.

Since the LORD your God walks in the midst of your camp
to deliver you and to defeat your enemies before you,
therefore your camp must be holy.
Deut 23:14

Poop is in the New Testament, too.

Jesus mentions it (rather indirectly) in Matthew 15:17

Matthew 15:17 (NKJV)
Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated?

St. Paul is a little less discrete in Philippians 3:8

Philippians 3:8 (KJV)
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ...

Modern translations waltz around the word "dung" a bit, but the Greek is pretty clear. Paul used an indelicate term.

If you're into biblical grossology, I could show you where Paul talks about dog vomit, but it might be more fun if you found it for yourself.
