...Christian Blackmetal/Unblack music? It has been a favorite of mine for a couple of years now, but it is often difficult to find Christians with similiar tastes in music. I would enjoy discussing the music genre with anyone who is interested.

Some of my favorite bands include:

-Horde
-Immortal Souls
-Slechtvalk
-Crimson Moonlight

Hope to hear from someone soon!

Yep, been into it for a while :D Here's a list of bands I listen to a lot:

Antestor(if you don't know them yet get to know them ;) They're at the top of this genre imo, have been around since 1991 and released another cd early this year :) Main recomendations of cd's would be: The return of the black death and The Forsaken)
Slechtvalk
Drottnar
Frosthrdr
Vardoger
Kekal
Crimson Moonlight
Horde (I have the NB version :D)
Armageddon Holocaust
Sanctifica (first two albums, RIP)
Vaakevandring
Lengsel
Extol (not really black, more blackend death)
Frost Like Ashes
Sorrowstorm
Arch of Thorns
Holy Blood
Evroclydon
Eluveity
Dark Endless

Just as a remark Immortal Souls is much more melodic death metal than black, but doesn't take away that they are good ;)

I've heard good things about Antestor, but as of yet, have not purchased any of their albums. But with your recommendation, I think I'll give it a whirl. Judging from your list, you've been listening to this genre for quite some time. Thats for the info, I hope to get the chance to speak to you again.

Blackmetal is a type of music that falls under the category of what most people call "Heavy Metal". It was dubbed "black" metal because many of the early bands who developed this genre were pagans and much of their lyrical content reflected this. One of the most mentioned subjects in the old blackmetal days was sorcery and witchcraft...the black arts, and thus blackmetal. When Christians started playing this style of music about 10 years ago they referred to their music as eithier whitemetal and/or unblack. The term whitemetal never really stuck as unblack became a more favored term. But now more often than not, it is simply referred to as Christian Blackmetal.

Hehe, yep, first christian 'black metal' cd was titled Hellig Usvart, which is Norwegian and translates to Holy Unblack :D (though that cd was more meant as a spoof and to ridicule the black metal scene with songtitles like Invert the inverted cross, crush the bloody horns of the goat, the day of total armageddon holocaust and weak, feeble, dying antichrist :p I just find it much easier to say christian black.
