The following is a small list of heresies that are deviations from the true gospel of God. Over 1600 years these various practices were adopted by the RC Church. Coming from the history of Romanism one can find much of this type heresy and can readily understand how it has infiltrated the followers. Over the years those that withstood these heresies where murdered.
Here is a question that I pose concerning this issue. Hopefully this can be discussed rationally. (If this is the wrong thread, please let me know where this can be posted and discussed on the forum for other views.) Why do you feel the RC church council adopt these paganistic practices and would not stand against them and still does not even unto this day?
(1) Prayers for the dead and the sign of the cross. Both deal with witchcraft and other vile practices that God forbade.
(2) Wax candles.
(3) Veneration of angels and dead saints.
(4) The Mass.
(5) The worship of Mary the mother of Jesus and the use of the term Mother of God.
(6) Priests began to dress differently and lord it over the laymen.
(7) The doctrine of Purgatory.
(8) The Latin language as the language of prayer and worship.
(9) Praying to various individuals. The Bible teaches that we pray to God alone (John 16:23-26).
(10) The Papacy. Peter as pope, etc. Jesus expressly forbid any such notion (Luke 22:24-26; Eph. l:22, 23; Col. 1:18; 1 Cor. 3:11).
(11) The kissing of the Pope's feet. The Word of God forbids such practices (Acts 10:25, 26; Rev. 19:10, 22:9).
(12) Worship of the cross, images and relics (idolatry).
(13) Holy Water.
(14) The baptism of bell instituted by Pope John XIV.
(15) Canonization of dead saints.
( l 6) The celibacy of the priesthood. Jesus imposed no such rule, as we see St. Peter was a married (Matt. 8:14-15) and St. Paul says that bishops were to have a wife and children (1 Tim. 3:2-5, 12; Titus 1).
(17) The rosary, or prayer beads (black magic)
(18) The sale of indulgences.
(19) Transubstantiation.
(20) Confession of sins to the priest (We are commanded to confess our sins to God)
(21) The adoration of the wafer (idolatry).
(22) Keeping the Bible from laymen.
(23) The scapular (fetishism).
(24) The doctrine of purgatory.
(25) The doctrine of Seven Sacraments.
(26) The Ave Maria.
(27) The immaculate conception of the Virgin Mary. The gospel states that all men, with the sole exception of Christ, are sinners. Mary herself had to have a Savior (Rom. 3:23; 5:12; Psalms 51:5; Luke 1:30, 46-47).
(28) The "Mother of God" fallicy. This is a heresy which is contrary to Mary's own words (Luke 1:46-49).
One would have to wonder what the next "new" dogma or practice of heretical roots the rc church will come up with. Not long ago I read something about the doctrine of "Mary's Milk" and yet the catholics deny such, or say, "you don't understand what that means." To talk to catholics you would think they never change, yet they consistantly create new doctrines which are quite contrary to the Word of God and stem from paganistic practices even unto witchcraft. Why do they not question these pagan practices? Please understand while using the term "catholics" I am not lumping everyone that attends catholic church, or claims to be catholic to somehow be anti-christ or something. This has never been an easy subject to deal with, as it does ruffle some feathers, so-to-speak.
The above list is a small list of the pagan practices, but what are your views, comments, etc., as to these various things?
