Where would be your favorite place to live?

Right now my Hubby and I are playing with that far-away dream of where would be perfect to live when we retire.

Now, don't laugh too hard. We're thinking somewhere around Bemidji.

We like snow, we like pinetrees, we like places that smell like real wood fires when you get out of your car.
We like lakes and rivers, we like outdoors, etc.

I also LOVE the area around Whitefish, MT, as well as Spearfish SD.

Probably for the same reasons as Bemidji.

So what toys, dolls/action figures, games, etc do you remember having and enjoying?

Because we grew up during an interesting time: Were you allowed to play with toys of the other sex?

And did you/do you like stuffed animals? Any specific type?

I had barbies....including Donny and Marie Dolls! I also had collections of horse figurines.

My fav stuffed toy was a HUGE turquois and white bear, I named him Ted E. He fell apart when I was about 10.

I had two blankies, that I gave away to a stray pregnant cat who was living in an old dog house when I was 5.

I had a small plastic record player that I wore out. I loved music.

I also had doll called "Chatty Cathy", who rode on a small plastic horse. I colored her eyelids blue with marker, so she would look like my mom. It never came off.

Oh, and yes, I could play with boy stuff if I wanted to. But I didn't usually ask for them. With the exception of "cowboy" apparel. Anything that had to do with horses, I was into that.

If you could be a color crayon, what color would you be?

I have a fresh box of 64 crayons with a built in sharpener right in front of me right now. There are just so many great choices.

I am picking Pacific Blue. I'd love a dress in that color.

Are you artistic? If so, what is your strength (i.e. painting, sewing, carpentry)?

Drawing...sketching....mediums: charcoals, pencil, ink, pastels. I also worked with watercolors and acrylics for a while, but not so much lately. And I seldom do abstract work. Very much about realism and mostly living things. I enjoy doing faces.

Do you have Sunday dinner plans? I'll be making a penne pasta in a simple pomodoro sauce tossed with grape tomatoes, fresh basil and fresh mozzarella cheese. Maybe a nice glass of Pinot Noir or Sangviovese. Simple but yummy!!

By "dinner" do you mean Supper or Lunch?

For Lunch yesterday I made waffles, sausage, and we had lemon plums for fruit.

For Supper yesterday, we had chicken enchilada's, baby lettuce greens with sliced tomatoes and parmasean cheese, cut mango, blue berries and rasberries for fruit salad.

3 kids....so milk is always served.

By "dinner" I mean the large meal - which on Sundays is often the noontime meal.

Your supper sounds delicious - raspberries are my absolute favorite fruit (in all seriousness, I have this theory that during creaton God was coming up with all these great fruits, created raspberris and decided that He couldn't improve on them so on to veggies). Mango is right up there as a personal favorite too, but I have trouble finding really good mangos here in the midwest.. I like tossed salads too - like your choice of ingredients there also.

Well, then, what you really would have liked is the supper I made on Tuesday. Oven roasted, then broiled Pork Tenderloin encrusted with an olive-oil-garlic-herb coating. Sliced and dipslayed over a bed of whole-wheat couse couse with the pan drippings simmered into a garlic herb sauce that I drizzled over the top. Again, baby-lettuce greens, but I minced more mango and added balsamic vinegar, honey and olive oil as the dressing...topped with a sprinkle of chopped macadamia nuts. (they are best on salad, toasted, but I ran out of time).

Sometimes. Especially on the days when the school lunch was gross.

But it gets a bit frustrating when hubby says "Why should we go out when I can eat better at home." It's a double edged compliment, when the cook needs to be wined and dined now and then (without doing all the work).^_^

I hear you - I like to go out just the two of us every now and then too. For whatever reason we don't do that so much now - he'd rather the home cooked meals.
