Yes, one, the horse I wanted to win did not. But, I hadn't bet any money. I was 14 years old.

I still don't like to gamble with money. I'm more of a saver than spender.

Everything I had. I had lost my pocket book, and it took last week to replace all my ID and cards. So, I wasn't spending anything.

No, but I did raise an abandoned baby crow when I was 15 years old.

Yes, a red plastic one when we were camping last year.

where did you go camping?

A lot of places (we camp all summer), but my favorite was in the NE corner of North Dakota. It is called Icelantic State Park. It is built next to a small lake, has a beach, consession stand (if I am in a lazy mode and don't want to cook....like on hot days), great playgrounds for the kids and a museum on the Icelantic pioneers that settled in that area.

You get to tour through old churches, cabins, barns, town-halls that were donated and restored and put on the grounds too. There is a bike route to the town of Cavalliere (7 miles away), where we attended church, shopped a little, and ate cafe food and ice cream.

It is a North Dakota State Park, which means that quiet times, and appropriate behavior (eg. no wild parties) are enforced. That works well for families with young kids like us. Our dog is also allowed, as long as she is on a leash and is well mannered (not a threatening dog).

We used to seriously rough it and camp in really rustic places. It got too crazy at about 3 kids. We have a 5th wheel trailer now, and I feel very spoiled, but I love it. We still have all of our old gear, and want to pull it out and take the kids all camping and canoeing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area in Norther MN when they can all swim well.
