• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey Chris... welcome to CF and to this board. :hug:

We the none of us on here can diagnose you. I would highly recommend you see a psychiatrist and ask him/her about your symptoms.

It sounds like you are struggling, though, so feel free to ask for support anywhere you see fit. :hug:

Who prescribed those medications for you? A psychiatrist? or your family doc?

If you are taking any psychotropic medications, it is usually highly recommended that you alse see a psychiatrist for medication management and a licensed psychotherapist to learn coping skills and cognitive reframing.

Nobody here should be telling you if you have bipolar disorder. Only a psychiatrist or therapist can tell you that.

Good luck.

G'day Chris

Personally, reading your posts, you suffer from a low self-esteem, and are feeding depression. It could well be that your depression is caused by this, but it could also be depression causing your low self-esteem. The only way to find out it is to get rid of your low self esteem and see what happens to your depression. You may also be suffering from the onset of a major mental illness - as your symptoms mirror the ones I had as a teenager and a major mental illness is what I got!

Okay I'll try and explain how I see this issue resolved the quickest.

It has to do with God. When we don't love God, or only a little, than we don't feel love for ourselves either, for God reserves His love for those who love Him. However The Truth is that love of God will bring you unbelievable love for self and neighbour. (as He has done for many of us already though we are still often depressed, we know we are the beloved of God and don't believe the badness that we feel any more .)

Chris, you are killing yourself psychologically by BELIEVING these BAD thoughts and feelings about yourself. for this perspective you are not being nice! Indeed it sounds like you are full of unlovingness, it is this unlovingness that lies to your feeling world and makes you feel so bad.

In The Truth!

You are loved by God!

He calls His Children - BELOVED!

Yet your truth? - I'm no good, I hate myself, I'm ugly, I can't do or get anything, I'm useless, I'm disliked, I'm alone, and so forth...

THAT IS WHY YOU ARE HURTING, for all these realities you are feeling are wicked and wickedness - as you are loved - yet wickedness is hated - and you 'eat' this horrible stuff and feel terrible because of it.

So of course you feel bad, AGREEING with such terrible thoughts and feelings. Instead consider fighting, to the death if you must, those horrible monsters attacking you but DON'T befriend THEM EVER!

Honestly my dear hurting soul - try drinking some rotting concoction for example and see how you feel physically, so you are doing spiritually everyday!

Please stop!

Repent of these unloving times within yourself and ask our Heavenly Father to give you love instead! A heart full of love doesn't have a low-self-esteem that's the trick!

WHY ARE YOU STILL HURTING YOURSELF?

Please stop Christ, can't you see what you are doing? You become your own enemy, and when you become like that you push all good and love away and then the pain comes.....(is that what is happening now? As you read this? Listen to love when you read then you will be able to understand what I'm saying here - making you glad instead of sad or/and angry!)

My Heart is bleeding for you - as you are in it deep!

Do you want wickedness to be in control of your heart?

Please seek the FREEDOM to exist and be loved, for that is The Truth - that is how it should be - and that is what you hunger and thirst for.

Jesus Christ!

Honestly true Chris, I don't know if you know this but Jesus Christ is the love of God. When you have faith in Him then He will come and give you love and truth to dwell in your heart - making you free from depression and from a low self-esteem. In Him, humble grace rules your heart, no horrible thoughts and feeling in this, but always more love and goodness instead.

GOD'S LOVE IN YOUR HEART MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER THAN GOOD IN NO TIME!!

Please go the RIGHT way and turn back from walking towards that horrible pit.

Ask for love to be with you always.. just keep ask for faith and love God for loving you - such pays very good diffidence - all the time!

Please Chris, seek love within not hate!

Please ponder on the meaning of this psalm, consider what God has on offer for you as well. For if we can't do it then we just tell Him that - and then He does it for us - WONDERFUL

Gerry:prayer:

Psalm 34

1 [a] I will extol the LORD at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.

2 My soul will boast in the LORD;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

3 Glorify the LORD with me;
let us exalt his name together.

(Praise God so love may flow!)

4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.

5 Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.

6 This poor man called, and the LORD heard him;
he saved him out of all his troubles.

(Please know in God you are save!)

7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them.

8 Taste and see that the LORD is good;
blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
9 Fear the LORD, you his saints,
for those who fear him lack nothing.
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
11 Come, my children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking lies.
14 Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their cry;

(Can you see how that works? Seek God forsake wrong ways of dealing with yourself and live good life!)

16 the face of the LORD is against those who do evil,
to cut off the memory of them from the earth.

(But evil is in trouble and therefore doesn't feel good inside yet these numbered within will go!)

17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The LORD is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
19 A righteous man may have many troubles,
but the LORD delivers him from them all;
20 he protects all his bones,
not one of them will be broken.

(The results of loving and trusting God is better than good!)

21 Evil will slay the wicked;
the foes of the righteous will be condemned.

(God will clean up for you, wickedness destroying wickedness in The End.)

22 The LORD redeems his servants;
no one will be condemned who takes refuge in him.

(God will redeem us even from our own sinful ways and set us FREE!)
