Okay, my roommate is keeping me up all night because she can stay up until 2:00 since she doesn't have class until way after noon. I've talked to her, It made it worse. I've put in my paper work for a chance of roommate and have waited three weeks while I've watched other people move two or three times. What do I do? Help Me!!!

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How about making lots of noise and turning the light on at 6am as you get ready for class? mmmm, its not really the Christian thing to do, but I would be tempted. What does she say when you talk to her?
My husband has recently started 'on call' meaning he can be called into work at any time. When he first started he would turn on the light in the bed room - didn't matter that it was 4am. After I reminded him that when I was on call I didn't turn on the bed room light, he realised that it disrupted my sleep, and has been much more considerate.
My husband also likes to go to bed early, where as I like to read late at night. He also likes me to go to bed with him at the same time. Several things I have done over the years is too
- read under the covers with a torch (once tried a candle when I could not find the torch - not recommended)
- use a small night light that hooks onto the book
- listen to music via my iPod
and the latest and best thing
- listen to Audio books on my iPod.
I know this is difficult when you are a student. What is it that she is doing that is keeping you awake? or is it that she comes in late and disturbs you. If this is the case, I am not sure what you can do about that, other than ask her to be quiet.

I have asked her to turn her T. V. down. When I do, she either turns it up or turns it off and turns her music up as loud as it will go. I have asked her not to bring all of her friends in after I go to bed. She usually brings them in at 1 or 2 in the morning. Anything I ask she either does the opposite of or does something worse. And because of her keeping me awake all night, I am getting sick with migraines and I've had to miss class. She knows that this is what happens when she keeps me awake, but she still does it. And I've tried waking her up when I get up at 6. It is impossible. She sleeps like the dead.

That is just mean. Obviously not caring and completely unreasonable and doing it on purpose. Can you put in a complaint?

The authorities have been working on our room changes for three weeks now. They tell me they're "doing their best". I trying to figure out a way I can make it better through HER because no else is helping.

Sorry I cannot make it better for you. But I can tell you a funny story about ear plugs!
Earlier this year my Husband and I went to a Deep Purple concert. I am a classical chick myself, and I cannot stand really loud, heavy, rock music. I took along some ear plugs (and a book) and sat in the back row. I advised my Husband to put in the extra ear plugs that I had brought along so he would not get hearing damage jiving around near the speakers. He told me he was fine, and he was going to do what he had done before, use a small bit of wet toilet paper of all things
. So at the end of the concert on the way home, my beloved is trying to remove the 'ear plugs' ie toilet paper. He tells me that he thinks that there is something left in one of his ears. The next day I have a look - sure enough there is toilet paper stuffed into his ear. I tell him that he should go to emergency and get one of the Doctors there too remove it. He does not want to do that because A) he works there and B) he does not want to look like a ningnong to the people he works with. So I do my best to remove it, I must have taken out at least 20 small pieces of toilet paper as it was breaking up. Finally I think I have it all, but to check I have a look in his other ear to see what the ear canal looked like - guess what I find, more toilet paper. I think it must have been in there for quite a while. Now he does not have an excuse to say he did not hear what I said.
So no matter how bad she gets, don't put toilet paper into your ears!
